Revive That Romance: A Sweet Weekend Escape with that Special Someone in Olivia Beach

There are times when you just need to get away from everything and spend some time reconnecting with your special someone. During those times, you just want to find someone to look after the kids, sit the pets, and check on your house. Once you’ve gotten those things checked off your “to-do” list, you’re ready to whisk your significant other away for a weekend of romance and intimacy.
Now the question is, where do you go? Unless you’ve got a lot of disposable income, you probably can’t just hop on a plane and jet off to some exotic locale. Luckily for you, there’s an amazing and picturesque location that’s only a quick road trip away: Olivia Beach.

Olivia Beach, Oregon

Olivia Beach is a gorgeous and quiet beachside community located along the Oregon coastline, and even the journey going there can be the start of your romantic getaway with your partner. Imagine feeling the salty, fresh ocean breeze against your face as you drive along the I-5 highway with your windows down. Along the way, you will pass by rocky coasts, beautiful sandy beaches, and glittering waters. Your final destination would be Olivia Beach!
From the moment you arrive at Olivia Beach, you will feel like you have stepped into a time machine! The gorgeous homes featuring classic Nantucket-style architecture, the quaint playgrounds and green spaces, and the quiet and inviting beaches will make you think that you’ve arrived in bygone eras.

Things to Do Outside

One of the best things about Olivia Beach is that you’ll be hypnotized by the natural beauty and tranquility of the area, and you’ll spend most of your time exploring everything that the area offers. Aside from the amazing beaches where you can swim, surf, and stroll along the sandy shores, there is a multitude of other outdoor activities that you can enjoy. Some of the most popular beaches in the area include D River Beach and Rockaway Beach.
Lincoln City, known as the kite capital of the world, is a great place to spend your romantic weekend. It has an amazing mix of wide spaces and a generally windy climate, making it perfect for a kite flying afternoon or two with your partner. In fact, kite flying is so popular here that there are two festivals dedicated to it! One is held in June and the other is held in October. Lincoln City is so inviting and enjoyable, you might even consider extending your stay there.

Drink and Feast the Night Away

If you and your partner love trying new local restaurants and bars, then you’re in luck at Olivia Beach. There are so many wineries, breweries, and eateries around that you might even have trouble choosing where to go!
For a long-time crowd favorite, you can visit McMenamins. This restaurant/brewery has branches all over the northwest, with one of the branches found in Lincoln. They have an extensive menu of delicious appetizers and entrees meant for sharing, as well as a selection of beers brewed in-house.
For a more laid-back and fun atmosphere, plan a night to visit The Black Squid Beer House. This bar has Trivia Tuesdays if you want to flex your trivia muscles and impress your partner, and they serve a wide and eclectic mix of spirits and liquors, such as in-house beers, cider, wine, and even mead and Kombucha! However, they don’t serve food, so you may want to get your snacks somewhere else.

Check Out the Local Events

No matter what time of year you plan to visit Olivia Beach, you’ll probably find something exciting and fun to do. Luckily, the Oregon Coast Visitor’s Association has you covered with a comprehensive calendar of activities that you can do throughout the year.

Take a Hike

Since you’re going away with your partner to enjoy some alone time, why not do it while enjoying the beauty of nature up close? There are several natural locations around Olivia Beach that you can enjoy together, such as Drift Creek Trail or Marjal de Pego Natural Park.
If you want to kick things up a notch, you can even rent a mountain bike from popular rental company eXtrem Tracks, and go for an adrenaline-pumping bike ride together!

Where Should We Stay?

There are many lodging options that you can choose from in Olivia Beach, but if you really want to experience living like a local, check out Sweet Haven Rentals. You can choose from a wide range of rental homes that will fit your needs and budget, whether you’re looking for a home with a pool, a cozy fireplace, or one that’s located right on the beach.

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
