Dinner At Best View Restaurant, Ipoh

GET TOGETHER with a few of my friends at a restaurant which I had not been before, called Best View.  This year Chinese New Year is pretty quiet, no interstate travels, no family reunions, I look forward to catching up with my close friends instead.  My friend made the reservation and was told to come at 6pm if possible.  No problem for us oldies, I personally prefer an early dinner than a late one.

Our choice of dishes consist of the following...
Stinky beans with minced meat...
Yau Mak aka Romaine Lettuce...
Sweet potato leaves in claypot...
Looks like it is a green dinner?  LOL...
\
Hakka dish...
Pork Belly with black fungus cooked in red fermented soy sauce...
Followed by steamed Tiger Garoupa..
And the bill came to RM150...
The CNY will be coming to an end on Friday...
Not sure there will be another dinner  again then...
By the way, we can register for the Vaccine...
Have you done so?
I have....

  1. Very tasty dishes! The price sounds very reasonable in CNY period. How many of you with 5 dishes? Should be at least 5 person with 5 dishes.

  2. Sweet potato leaves! I just cooked the ones from my garden yesterday - blogpost on that coming soon! I prefer petai with sambal udang. Wowww!!!! With that fish dish only RM150, so cheap!!!

  4. Very nice dishes especially the stinky beans. I just registered yesterday even though I am a bit apprehensive about the vaccine. Let's keep tab of the news and look out if anyone experience side effects.

  5. My uncle went for the vaccine already and he feels ok after the jab. Here in SG, seniors have the priority to go for the vaccine. My favourite here would be the pork belly with the black fungus. Yums!

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Cookies For Chinese New Year 2022 In San Jose

MISSING IN BLOGGING AGAIN.... this has become a norm now ever since I arrived to this continental... LOL... Now I understand the word of Full Commitment when it comes to taking care of baby... seriously, I have to be fully commited and occupied by this little cheeky fella who is now going to be his 10th month soon.  Wow... time flies, when I first came, he was just slightly over four months... that being said, it is soon time fo rme to pack my bags and leave.  LOL... My 6 months being a babysitter is soon over... and did I say I can hardly wait?  NO, NO... I love my job here and I am going to miss my baby tremendously!  I only don't miss his cries!  LOL...  OK, by the time I write this post, Chinese New Year is over, it is now the 4th day of CNY.  Two days before the Lunar New Year, my daughter-in-law and I cooperated fully and baked a few types of cookies.  Looking back at these pictures, I dare say that we did a good job... not on the cookies but at least we had a great time bond
