Homecooked Food At 130 Cafe, Ipoh

CAFE 130... That is what we used to call her when she invited us for dinner!

My friends and I love having dinner in her house cos she serves homecooked dishes most of the vegetables are homegrown as well.  We were invited to her home again few days ago and I did not particularly asked what dishes she was going to cook.  I just told her that I would be bringing one dish, a tiny dish.... LOL....

We reached her house around 5pm and everything was ready except for the bean sprouts which she was going to blanch as soon as we reached.  That is so thoughtful of her.... bean sprouts is best eaten while they are still fresh and hot.  As soon as she saw what my friend brought, she suddenly exclaimed... "Öh no, I forgot to cook rice!"   Fret not, fret not... I told her... we are not rice eaters nowadays and a big bowl of fried wanton noodles cooked by my friend, that is more than enough for the four of us!  LOL....

Good thing she did not remember to cook rice...
Otherwise there would be leftover of either noodles or rice....
Fried meat balls...
Minced meat, fish paste and ginger mixed..
Tasty dish!
Her homecooked BBQ Pork... aka Char Siew....
Very nicely done....
Soft and sweet pork belly....
My mini dish fried chicken...
Fresh beansprouts garnished with garlic and oil....
Which is the most popular dish...
Only the oil was left... LOL...
What a scrumptious meal for the 4 of us!
Thank you Nancy for the yummy dinner!!

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Now I understand the word of Full Commitment when it comes to taking care of baby... seriously, I have to be fully commited and occupied by this little cheeky fella who is now going to be his 10th month soon.  Wow... time flies, when I first came, he was just slightly over four months... that being said, it is soon time fo rme to pack my bags and leave.  LOL... My 6 months being a babysitter is soon over... and did I say I can hardly wait?  NO, NO... I love my job here and I am going to miss my baby tremendously!  I only don't miss his cries!  LOL...  OK, by the time I write this post, Chinese New Year is over, it is now the 4th day of CNY.  Two days before the Lunar New Year, my daughter-in-law and I cooperated fully and baked a few types of cookies.  Looking back at these pictures, I dare say that we did a good job... not on the cookies but at least we had a great time bond
