Yesterday Once More - Reminisce

ICE CREAM ADDICT...  And I think I need to slow down.... Instead of going out for desserts, I bought a small tub of La Creme just for "emergency."  LOL...

Anyone remember Cold Storage Snack Bar?  That was in the 1960s, 70s and I stayed near the Cold Storage in town.  Those days money was very tight, I remember I could only see other people enjoying ice cream in the snack bar instead of having one myself.  NO money to even go in except for very rare occasions, which is perhaps once per year.... not sure who gave the treat, but I do remember savoring the chicken wings until the very last... even the soft bones were not spared!  LOL .... Those were the days...

Now.... it is a different story.  We can afford but the quality is not the same anymore like those years ago.  NO more Cold Storage snack bar thus no more creamy ice cream and fried chicken wings which I could still remember too well the taste.... funny, I could forget who and who but I could still remember very well the taste of those yesteryear food!  Does that happen to you or is it just me?

This is Sidewalk Ice Cream Lounge in Ipoh....
One of the oldest as far as I can remember...
It was in Ipoh Garden initially...
My kids grow up eating from here... 1990s....
Shifted to Ipoh Garden East not too long ago....
I only found out in Facebook....
I think it is one of the oldest ice cream lounge in Ipoh...
Good to know they are still keeping up....
I went there for a dose of ice cream a couple of weeks ago....
For ice cream, of course....
We ordered these... Garlic toast...
While one of my friends had tea...
I had my Ice Cream fix....
Two scoops only...
Vanilla and Chocolate...
With some toppings...
Quite similar to the Cold Storage style...
Reminisce.... hmmmm....

  7. I seldom go to cold storage when they were at Jaya shopping center before the renovation so I don't know about the ice cream bar but anything with ice cream, please count me in.

Berries bread pudding today....  Forgot what this is called....  Garlic honey scones...  Coffee for my friends.... As for me, I had Chamomile tea....  We ordered one croissant to share.... Smoked duck and omelette fillings... Full to the brim... RM15....  Quiche again.... different fillings this time... RM15 And a Happy Birthday piece of cheese cake... RM14.. Though just a few varieties, we were very full.... For dinner, I just ha

BUNS AND PIES... freshly baked with Love.... printed on a brown paper bag, delivered by her handsome son right to my doorstep!  LOL.... Saw it on Facebook, one of my friends put up the fresh curry buns she ordered.  Yours truly saw and salivated and the next thing, I have the details I needed.  During the weekdays, the Breadlady has different kinds of buns and on Saturdays, she makes shepherd pies.  Since I got the details on Friday, I quickly messaged her and ordered 5 packets!  No, I did not eat them all, I ordered for my friends too, they have the same common interest as I do.  LOL...  ' Each set of shepherd pie comes with 2 fresh buns costing RM15.   I like her packing.... Brown paper bag with this slogan... Freshly baked with love...  The pies were still warm when they were delivered to right to  my doorstep with no extra charge... So nice! This was my lunch on Saturday.... I like the buns too...fresh and soft... One is filled with cranberries and apple.. And the other one is

BREAKFAST PLANS.... and we had Dim Sum this morning in First Garden.  We made the plans the night before to meet at the shop at 9am...  (A relief for me cos I had been waking up very early these days!)   Managed to get a big table for six pax, thanks to two of my friends who were there earlier than 9.  Except for the SOP procedures, it looks like business were back to normal in some areas.  We spent around an hour enjoying the below Dim Sum and we would be meeting again for lunch later!  Opppsss... it is all about eating again during this time of RMCO... (Recovery Movement Control Order) First to be served... the Dim Sum-s... And the total cost for our orders came to RM60.... Definitely a good deal... I am definitely full.... for now! LOL...
