First Morning And Our Meals At Kona, Hawaii

FIRST MORNING... after a good night rest, we woke up early... the time difference between San Jose and Kona is 3 hours, meaning... if SJ is 8am, it is 5am in Kona.  The first night I went to bed at 9pm but actually it was only 6pm in Kona... LOL... so that is the first time I slept so early throughout the night...

After cooking a nice but unhealthy breakfast and feeling satisfied, we took a walk to an shopping area nearby to get some stuff for lunch and so forth....
Our hearty breakfast , stuff bought from Costco...
Along the way...
All the black black stuff is the lava....
Kano is a volcano state... an active one too.
The last eruption was 2018.. hence the black lava everywhere...
Quiet area and we went in to get some foodstuff for our lunch and dinner...
Sushi corner...
Korean corner...
Orange chicken for $9.99 without any greens which lacks presentation....
Poke corner....
Our meals for lunch and the remainder for dinner....
Yes, added in some other food for dinner...
Definitely this is not enough...

  1. Orange chicken looks good - should be something like our very popular lemon chicken here. $9.99 for all that meat with rice is reasonable, just don't convert. LOL!!!

You can do your own cooking where you all stayed? That's a lot cheaper when overseas than eating out - just buy from the supermarket and cook what you like!!!

  2. I would love to visit a lava site. I mean the inactive one, preferable. Lol.

  3. the orange chicken is just rice with chicken....definately lack presentation and greens....need to get some leafy greens to eat with that.

  7. How exciting to visit a place that had a volcanic eruption in 2018 and that is about 3 years ago. Looks like a nice town and the food is interesting.
