How I Pass Five Hours At Changi Airport

TWO FLIGHTS IN A DAY...

I started flying with SIA in 2019 and ever since, I always go for this airline for my own convenience.  Sometimes there are offers but most times, it is a bit more expensive than other airlines.  I like to take SIA because it stops over in Singapore and after that, all the way to San Francisco direct.  Furthermore, I don't feel so "alien" in Changi airport, after all, we are neighbours, right?  LOL....

My flight from Penang was at 11.50am and I reached the airport around 9.30, I had ample time to check in.  The flight from Penang to Singapore is around 1 hour 25 minutes and by the time I reached Singapore, it was almost 2pm.  I was very hungry by then and I quickly took a skytrain to terminal 1 where the plaze premium lounge is located.

My next flight from Singapore to San Francisco is around 7pm plus, and that is more than 5 hours for me to rest and relax.  I went into the lounge, chose a nice private cubicle to myself, took some food and watched a movie on my iPad.  Food and drinks are free flow and that is one of the reasons too, I like to layover in Changi!

At around 6.30pm, I walked to the gate which was just below the lounge, to my surprise!  I remember the last time I had to walk quite a distance to my gate.  No flight delay... and I always forget to take pictures of my seat and the aircraft food which have nothing to shout about really.  Even though they serve Asian noodles or rice, I just could not finish them except for the Haagan Diaz ice cream cup.  In the end, I always end up eating more snacks than snacks.  Watched a couple of movies  on and off while dozing in between with music in my ears to ward off the airplane noise.

Landed in San Francisco at around 8.15pm and I quickly made my way to the immigration, overtaking as many passengers as I could to avoid the long queue.  *kiasu me*  Surprisingly, the foreigners line was not as long as the citizens/PR line and I was cleared to go within 15 minutes.  Another surprise, the trolley was free this time!  Cost me $8 to get one for my bags the last time...

Anyway, Thank God I have a smooth journey and immigration process was fast.... I will be here for a couple of months, not so much to travel but to be homebound!  LOL....
Checked in my two big bags...
And only settled for the backpack on my back...
Bye Penang... for now....
Singapore, here I come....
My private cubicle at the Plaza Premium Lounge...
First round... Chicken Rice...
Small portion just nice for me...
Then my second round..
Noodles soup and some condiments....
No third round... I was full by then...
See you again in a couple of months!

  1. You are looking lovely as usual, Clair. You are by now a seasoned traveler and know everything about it!

  2. Changi is nice...but of course, everything you multiply by 3.5 to see how much it is in our miserable ringgit. One reason why I don't travel anymore these days, cannot tahan the pinch. Not worth it in the end.

  3. Taking two flights in a day could be tiring. I wish to fly to Singapore one day. It has been long since I visit our neighbour. My aunt and cousin keep nagging me to go over. Lol.

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Exploring The Sea Cruise Royal Caribbean

CRUISING ALONG.... Once we deposited our bags in our cabins, we had our buffet meal at the Hammerjack restaurant and exactly at 4pm, we heard a loud Horn signal...  ITS TIME TO SAIL ALONG THE PACIFIC OCEAN! And while the ship started to sail, we humans started to walk and explore.... to familarize ourselves inside the ship....  Elevators on each side of the ship....  Making my mark....  On another side....  We walked along to check out our food outlets... This Promenade Cafe  had became our regular joint .... We like to sit there enjoying our hot drinks and desserts... Free flow of food day and night.... Passing through the bars to the casino... The casino will open only when the ship is in international waters...  At one of the jackpot machines... I wonder if they are real?? But they are only $1 bundles... Then we went up to the highest floor.... The swimming deck.... Taken against the sun.... Nice sunset in the evening.... The Happy Trio!

The Good, The Bad But Not Ugly

MISSING AND NOW BACK IN ACTION...  I checked back my last post and it was 8 March last month and today is 19 April, less than two months only.  So what has been happening in my life?  Lots and lots... good news, bad news, sad news... all concerning health and I guess this is our life cycle as we live day by day.   My health is also not that "fantastic" during the past few months, but mine is a small rock compared to giant boulder which my best buddy is undergoing... I guess some of you know what is happening to her from her blog posts.  I was totally devastated when this happened to her, my tears couldn't help falling and my heart goes out to her.  I am ashamed to say that instead of me giving the comfort that she needs, I am the one that have been receiving her strength in times like this.  She might be crushed physically but she is not broken in her spiritual mind and soul.  One word... "Unbreakable!"  She is a shining example..... "What can death do to m
