An Unaccomplished Mission

Okay, before the pictures come out, let me warn that it might be very "yucky"for you... those with weak heart, please skip this post... :)

As mentioned in my earlier posts, Labby is now our Labrador pet, she is eight months old and a superactive and hyperactive doggie and more so especially when she sees me.... she will jump all over me and I have to say NO! NO! each time she jumps... I guess it is my fault... u see, I always like to feed her with biscuits so ....when she sees me coming out to the porch, she will jump with joy thinking I have something for her to eat....

This time when I was taking the biscuits from the tin, she jumped up again and I felt something stinging behind my leg. But I didn't bother to look, I continued playing with her, making her run to fetch the "toy" and rewarding her with biscuits....

Then after a few minutes, I "beh tahan" the stinging and looked behind my leg... OH GOSH! It was all red and the scratch mark was at least 6 inches long.... quickly, I washed it off with yellow solution and applied some cream on it and of course, snapped a picture of this for kenang-kenangan (remembrance)... (btw, can get rabies or not ah?)

This morning I took Labby to the vet, to cut her paw nails (go for pedicure :))... but upon reaching, know what? I couldn't get her out of my car... tried to carry her, she wont even budge, her paws like all tensed up, making it more difficult for me to pull her out. She was so smart, she knew it was some new place she was going to and she just wouldn't budge at all....sigh...

see, she just pretend not to hear....

After 10 minutes of pulling, tugging, cajoling, persuading... I gave up... no strength in me already... We went home, my mission unaccomplished....sigh.....
SONS, HELP! HELP!!!

  5. If it's a scratch, not a bite, you will not get rabies...but infected wounds may be problematic. Take care of it! Dogs!!! Who says they're man's best friends? I know of cases where they can be very dangerous... Watch out! Yours doesn't like you anymore...

  14. My cousin had one of those "special" expensive dogs...attacked the maid as she was passing something over the fence to some workers at the other side (maybe thought she was stealing something)...and when he went to rescue her, the mutt turned on him. The workers had to rush in to save him by killing the dog...and he was hospitalised, had to undergo plastic surgery.... No dogs for me, thank you!

  15. Ouch that looks bad. Well, all dogs are afraid of Vets Eventually they know it is going to happen to go there for jabs, guess it all depends o how the vet treat the animals. Though I am not sure, I am not a dog :P. But I have seen sme dogs willingly go to the vet and greeting the veterinarian happily. Vetrinarian been giving doggy sweets? lol

  21. that yellow solution which you applied to your leg is called acriflavin or just "flavin", an anti-septic medication. The blue one is called gentian violet which does the same thing.

If i'm not wrong, rabies is cause by dog bites, not by scratches. Ask your vet to confirm this.

Hope the scratches have healed now.
