Johor Premium Outlets And Koay Teow Kia

Heard that the Johore Premium Factory Outlet offers great deals and to "kill" the curiosity, we made a trip there one fine afternoon. Initially I thought that it was situated somewhere near the town but little did I know that it was quite far from town, in fact it is on the highway....
after half hour or so, we reached....
it was a Monday when we went visiting
and the crowd was not there....
not much sales so I guess not many shoppers....
we just walked in and out of the shops...
something like "window shopping"...
the prices are fantastic everywhere...
too Heavy for me to pay ... hahahaa...
made me regret not buying more during my US trip...
So this is the one of the latest development in JB...
Another one will be Legoland... yet to go...
Back to town, my friend took us to taste the popular dish
called Koay Teow Kia...
Here is the Koay Teow Kia...
Flat noodles in dark soup...
Never tasted it before in Ipoh...
Would like to try it again when I go to JB again....

  9. This is in Johore or in BiKok? The surroundings & and the sign board so Americanised reminds me of Barstow where I almost bought the 501 jeans. Oh the Keow Teow Kia is the son or daughter of Keow Teow Pa? hehe.

  11. this dish is found only in Johor but actually, it's just thinner strips of koay teow in a brown gravy sauce, into which all the other ingredients are boiled, eg. tauhu, hard-boiled eggs, chicken feet.

My Failed Project In Baking Mini Egg Cakes

FAILED THIS TIME..... I don't know why, I follow exactly the ingredients and the method written in her website but it was not successful.  Something went wrong somewhere but I don't think I want to try it again.  This recipe is called Mini Egg Cake which is supposed to be soft, airy, light sponge cake but the way I made them, they turned out hard and crusty cake.   If I try again one day, I will half the portion... cos I like to eat these traditional egg cakes.... The Ingredients...  No point putting the recipe here since I failed..  LOL...  The portions of this recipe....  It looked very promising when I put them into the oven.... Even when they were in the baking process... they look good, aren't they? LOL...  I was so happy just by looking at the mini egg cakes in the tray....  And after they were let out... my heart sank....  The minute I took them out from the tray, I knew... Hard at the top...  Tak Jadi = Failed.... Now come to t

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... Afghanistan Food.... chunks of chicken meat with naan.... Brazilian food.... don't ask me what it is.... I just ate what was on the table....  But I am amazed by this giant burger....  ..... and what burger is this? They told me it is Crocodile Tail Burger! Meat from the crocodile tail?  Is it just a name or what... I really don't know... Took a few bites of it... and I am full!! Well, these were the food we

Home Cooked Dishes

NOT MUCH HAPPENING... and lazy too.... My neighbour gave me half pumpkin and I have been keeping it for a couple of days before I finally decide what to do with it.  I cook it into small chunks and sauteed it with minced meat, okra and basil leaves.  Yes, it would be great to put in some small cilipadi but unfortunately, I did not find any in my fridge.  Steamed a bowl of rice and that was meal for dinner.... One dish meal....  Pumpkin reminds me of sweet potatoes...sweet after cooking... Another dinner meal consist of Sambal Fish, black pepper met and a hard boiled egg  I only boiled the egg, the other two dishes were "sponsored" by my neighbour... LOL...
