Humble Beginnings In Straits Quay, Penang

Andy suggested going to Humble Beginnings Mille Crepe in Straits Quay for the crepes, knowing yours truly simply loves desserts... Yes, he recommended only but his elder brother has to pay for them.. this is how it goes in my family... hahaha...
We ordered not one but three of different flavours...
These were our after-lunch desserts...
excluding the dark glasses, that was for props only...
My nephew was most happy...
Meeting up with Charlie, Snoopy and the gang...
His first time here and he seems to be fascinated...
Let's be friends!
Hi Snoopy!!
Something's good is going to happen in Straits Quay...

  1. The original chef from the famous Malacca one, left after disagreement with the boss - now opening his own at a number of places. Nice or not? As nice as Noodle House? More expensive, that's for sure - Penang city mah, people all very rich.

  2. Doesn't look nice & neat and well-laid out, I see... Must be the subordinates doing it - yet to master the art of doing it well.

  7. I like Mille Crepe cake the first time I tasted in Melaka. I have not tried any in Singapore because they are too expensive. :)

  8. I've had Humble Beginnings from Klang Valley a few times (office birthdays) but I sorta prefer the Nadeje Melaka one although they got a lot of good reviews...just personal taste, I guess.

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...
Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch here in …

Caring And Sharing At Limestone, Regal Lodge, Ipoh

IMPROMPTU GATHERING.... Nothing was planned beforehand, it was only at the last minute that we received call to have lunch at Limestone Cafe, inside Regal Lodge.  It was my first time there to have set lunch.  The menu prices were reasonable, around RM15.90 for the main dish, RM3 for a bowl of soup and RM2 for ice cream.  Other than that, coffee, tea and soft drinks are free.
We were there not so much for the food but for the ambiance... we practically had the whole cafe to ourselves during that lunch hour.  Only one or two tables were occupied and we spent more than two hours there since it was a Friday long hour lunch for my working colleagues.  After a few months absence from me, it was wonderful to catch up with my ex-colleagues again!
I was super hungry by lunch time and I felt like eating almost anything in the menu. We ended up ordering one main dish each and then sharing them with one another so that we could taste a bit of this and that.....
I felt like eating Aglio Oli…

Famous Wanton Mee At New Hoong Kee, Bandar Sri Damansara

BREAKFAST FEAST..  Best meal of the day is always my first meal because I know I am able to tuck in as much as my stomach can accept.  I eat a lot in the mornings and then slowly dwindle by the end of the day.  As the saying goes, eat like a king in the morning and like a pauper in the evenings.  This is what I normally do nowadays, not because I wanted to, but it is my own body system that tune me this way.  Though I deny I am old but the body says otherwise... LOL...

On this morning, we went to New Hoong Kee in Bandar Sri Damansara, my sibling said this is currently his favourite place.  And after trying, I know why.... the food we ordered, all turned out good and tasty, even the curry reminded me of my good old days!
Managed to catch the name otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell this story now...  My type of curry... I can go without the chicken... Just the other ingredients will do fine for me.. I like the way they cook this curry... Heard the BBQ pork is tasty too... melt in …
