Face To Face At Bukit Indah, Johor

MY GIRL LOVES KOLO NOODLES, difficult to find them in IPOH whereas in Johor, we can get to eat them anytime we want to.  The very first breakfast in JB was none other than Sarawak noodles, I guess they must be Kolo and not Kampua, anyway, I am not too sure, as long as they are Sarawak noodles, it must be one of those.  For the noodle fix, we went to Face To Face at Bukit Indah, easy parking and just opposite AEON shopping mall.

It was around noon when we arrived and the crowd was already filling up the Noodle house.  Only one table was left for us while a few tables were displayed with "Reserved" sign.  Well, I guess this place is popular, as long as it is an air-con place, patrons do not mind paying a bit more than the usual coffeeshops....
Beautiful Hill, it says here....
On the way to the Noodle House.. Face To Face....
Almost arriving, the noodle house is just behind the shophouses on the left....
I am quite familiar with this area by now... ahemmm...
Tell me.... Kolo or Kampua?
I took Pan Mee.... such a big portion!
Side dishes... Chives Dumplings...
I find them different from the last time I ate them...
Not as crispy as the previous time...
Sayur Manis soup with eggs...
This meal represented our breakfast and lunch...
Two meals at One Go!
Can last us till dinner, no doubt about that....
Time to go for a long walk at AEON Bukit Indah after our heavy meal....
This is Johor life...

  4. Your Pan Mee has me salivating, it looks so awesome! The soup looks like what we call "egg drop soup with spinach", I have made it many times. The dumplings look so crispy! I think if I ever visited you, I would gain 100 pounds! What an amazing tall building this is!

  5. Looks like kolo mee to me. Personally I prefer kolo mee, the nice ones in Kuching - it's in the taste actually, different and a bit like Seremban Hakka mee. Lots of Hakka people in Kuching, Sibu mostly Foochows. The ones here are mostly pale imitations - like kampua in disguise, look the same but not the same.

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... Afghanistan Food.... chunks of chicken meat with naan.... Brazilian food.... don't ask me what it is.... I just ate what was on the table....  But I am amazed by this giant burger....  ..... and what burger is this? They told me it is Crocodile Tail Burger! Meat from the crocodile tail?  Is it just a name or what... I really don't know... Took a few bites of it... and I am full!! Well, these were the food we

My Failed Project In Baking Mini Egg Cakes

FAILED THIS TIME..... I don't know why, I follow exactly the ingredients and the method written in her website but it was not successful.  Something went wrong somewhere but I don't think I want to try it again.  This recipe is called Mini Egg Cake which is supposed to be soft, airy, light sponge cake but the way I made them, they turned out hard and crusty cake.   If I try again one day, I will half the portion... cos I like to eat these traditional egg cakes.... The Ingredients...  No point putting the recipe here since I failed..  LOL...  The portions of this recipe....  It looked very promising when I put them into the oven.... Even when they were in the baking process... they look good, aren't they? LOL...  I was so happy just by looking at the mini egg cakes in the tray....  And after they were let out... my heart sank....  The minute I took them out from the tray, I knew... Hard at the top...  Tak Jadi = Failed.... Now come to t

Home Cooked Dishes

NOT MUCH HAPPENING... and lazy too.... My neighbour gave me half pumpkin and I have been keeping it for a couple of days before I finally decide what to do with it.  I cook it into small chunks and sauteed it with minced meat, okra and basil leaves.  Yes, it would be great to put in some small cilipadi but unfortunately, I did not find any in my fridge.  Steamed a bowl of rice and that was meal for dinner.... One dish meal....  Pumpkin reminds me of sweet potatoes...sweet after cooking... Another dinner meal consist of Sambal Fish, black pepper met and a hard boiled egg  I only boiled the egg, the other two dishes were "sponsored" by my neighbour... LOL...
