Dinner For Five At Punggol Settlement, Singapore

ANOTHER EVENING DINNER AT PUNGGOL SETTLEMENT...

Cousins took us for another dinner the next day, this time to Punggol, definitely first time for me here.  I have never stayed in Singapore for a week before, most of the time, we only "layover" for a night or two.  Thanks to my auntie and her family who opened their place for us to stay and this is the only time we really explored more places in Singapore.

So what do they have in Punggol Settlement?  They have a beautiful waterfront area for both food and leisure.  If I stay around this area, I would go for my evening walks whenever possible and then taking my dinner there facing the sea... LOL...  On this day, that was what we did.... strolled along the waterfront and then we had our dinner at one of the restaurants there.
Really a nice place to walk and pass time in the evening.....
Yes, we wish we could fly too!
Our dinner at the White Meehoon Restaurant....
We had quite a number of dishes for the five of us....
Maybe after the one hour walk, my cousin must be thinking we were starving!

  1. Food looks good but nothing out of the ordinary, pretty much like what one can get at a lot of places elsewhere.

I had a friend in Punggol, 1973 but I never ventured to that part of the island - more familiar with Katong/East Coast, Changi, Toa Payoh...and the city centre area.

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
