In And Out Homecooked Food

HOMECOOKED AND OUTCOOKED... A mixture of two...

I like pumpkin soup, it has its own natural sweetness so there are a few ways of cooking pumpkin.  Boil, steam, braise, sauteed, baked, all these can be done on pumpkin.  For me, I like to boil pumpkin soup, adding in tomatoes, big onions, carrots and chicken/pork... oh yes, must add in some peppercorn for a mild spicy taste.  Sometimes I use pumpkin to cook curry, it thickens the gravy, I like that.

So... on this day, I put the above ingredients into the smart cooker, pressed "soup" and I went off to do my chores.  Within half hour, the soup is done!  Just soup?  Then I did the lazy way out, I went out to get some ready cooked dishes nearby... taking a tiffin carrier, I bought back four types of vegetables and 3 pieces of fried chicken.  My meals for the day is completed!!

Eggs and long beans in one carrier...
Brinjal and hairy gourd in another tiffin....
Besides the dishes, this shop is also famous for their fried chicken...
And recently, even more famous from a HK actor by the name of Chapman To....
After his review, now we have to queue for these fried chicken..
No thanks to him... many complained... LOL....
To avoid the peak hour, I go at 10.45am to avoid long queue...
The dishes minus the soup above cost a bit below RM20....
Enough for us for one day....

  1. You serve your food at home in tiffin carriers? Remember, cannot heat in microwave ah!

  2. The queue consists of local Ipoh people? Cos cannot cross states yet wor. Ok la, more than good enough to eat.

  3. Ooo the fried chicken is good ah?? Good to bring own tiffin when take away. Now I mostly cook at home and some day, order food delivery. Rarely tapau now unless breakfast.

  4. I also like mix and match of home cooked and bought food. More variety and makes life easier.

  5. The actor's good review is good for the business but it means longer queue for the customers.

  6. I love pumpkin too! Very versatile.

Berries bread pudding today....  Forgot what this is called....  Garlic honey scones...  Coffee for my friends.... As for me, I had Chamomile tea....  We ordered one croissant to share.... Smoked duck and omelette fillings... Full to the brim... RM15....  Quiche again.... different fillings this time... RM15 And a Happy Birthday piece of cheese cake... RM14.. Though just a few varieties, we were very full.... For dinner, I just ha

Defrosted a piece of cod, my last piece in the freezer besides another few more pieces of other types of fish.  I think I consume the most fish this year, never bought so many types of fish before.  Maybe it is made easier for me this year cos of the online shopping at Gracious, cleaned, vacuumed and free delivery above RM50.   My last piece of cod.... A plate of greens called Yau Mak...  Not so sure what it is called in English And chicken herbal soup....  My complete meal for one evening....  As usual, I do not take much rice... Or perhaps I did not take rice at all for this meal....  LOL...

Freshly Baked With Love From Breadlady

BUNS AND PIES... freshly baked with Love.... printed on a brown paper bag, delivered by her handsome son right to my doorstep!  LOL.... Saw it on Facebook, one of my friends put up the fresh curry buns she ordered.  Yours truly saw and salivated and the next thing, I have the details I needed.  During the weekdays, the Breadlady has different kinds of buns and on Saturdays, she makes shepherd pies.  Since I got the details on Friday, I quickly messaged her and ordered 5 packets!  No, I did not eat them all, I ordered for my friends too, they have the same common interest as I do.  LOL...  ' Each set of shepherd pie comes with 2 fresh buns costing RM15.   I like her packing.... Brown paper bag with this slogan... Freshly baked with love...  The pies were still warm when they were delivered to right to  my doorstep with no extra charge... So nice! This was my lunch on Saturday.... I like the buns too...fresh and soft... One is filled with cranberries and apple.. And the other one is
