Dining IN At Morel Restaurant

TRYING OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME... and there might not be a second time for us... for a long while, I am sure!  LOL...

Since I am now back in Ipoh, my friends suggested going to Morel for western fine dining.  I had not heard of this place before and I am all IN to try out wherever they suggest.  The pandemic is still looming everywhere, so to avoid crowds, we booked the reservation for four at six pm in the evening.  This is the time with the least people.... right?

Yes, we were the early birds.... menu came and there was not really a wide selection of choices to choose from.  I ended up taking fish... and now I have forgotten what type of fish, but I do remember the pricing very well.... LOL....

Formerly in SOHO area and now they shifted here to a bungalow at
Chung Thye Phin Road....
The ambience is beautiful...
I did not take many pictures though....
I couldn't remember the name of the soup already...
Just look at the pictures only... ya!
I know this is salmon...
We ordered two sets of this fish....
A small piece no doubt but enough for me though....
For this dish, it cost RM150....yes!

And now... for the price....
The bill came to RM500 over...
Not surprising when we screened over the menu from the start...
LOL....
Anyway... an eye opener for the four of us...
At least we came and we tried...
And that was it...
LOL...

  1. Well, it looks like it was still a different and beautiful experience. The building is lovely, and the inside very fancy and large.

  2. Oooooo...I love that old colonial style building, what a lovely place...with some really exquisite dishes to match...and the price!!! Shocking!!! LOL!!! If it is really so out of this world nice, I would reserve it for special occasions. I thought you would have had enough of western cuisine after 6 months in the US?

  4. Ya, for fine dining, the prices are like that. I am so curious on what type of fish you ordered. Maybe there is an online menu somewhere that I could consult.

  6. Haiyah, you just back from the West and off you went for Western food?? Lol.

Fine dining, once a while or special occasion, ok lah. But I like the bungalow, cool. We have few houses around, Chinese owned, now mostly abandoned .
