Cititel and Straits Quay, Penang

We drove up north and Aaron flew up north, yes, we have our family reunion in Penang! We planned it more than a month ago and we were looking forward to seeing Aaron again, it has been more than two months since we last met... all of us miss him very much....

For dinner, we went for a Japanese buffet in Cititel Hotel, recommended by a friend who told us that there was a promotion... but after parking our car and checking in, the promotion was meant for Sunday... and not Saturday! awwww.... too late to "gostan" and since we were inside already, might as well, sit down and enjoy the food and the ambience....

I cannot take much in buffets... little of this and that...

we are small eaters... not worth going to buffets for us..

how colourful can an ice cream gets... gosh!!

but most important, the kids enjoyed....
they can really eat and eat... no full stop.. hahaha...

After our dinner, the night was still young...
Aaron has not been to Straits Quay before..
so naturally our next destination is here...

ahh.....this picture to prove you are here now...

and here too...
something nice in this place.. very high-end..

lets take some more pictures to remember this by...

love the lollipops background..
it is going to open soon....

Ok, let's explore the rest of the building...

the gardens and sidewalks...

and stopping to discuss something...

whether to choose this one...

or this?? hahahaa... lets dream on!!

no need to buy.. take pictures enough...

eh.... what youare looking at??
I have to ask him.. I really don't know...

By the time we left this place, it was almost 11pm... and guess what? We went for our supper along the Gurney road, I wanted to get a bowl of laksa but unfortunately, all were sold out...
Ended up taking some desserts before we called it a night....

Paddington And Penang Airport

Upon checking in to Gurney Hotel around noon, we relaxed for awhile in the room, turned on the computer and checked my emails. My kids were lazing on the couch and bed in front of the television. After an hour or so, we started our next program by driving all the way to Queensbay mall.

We wanted to take something light.... not too full because we have plans to go for a heavy type of dinner later in the evening.... so we came here....

First time coming by...

and we ordered this to share among us...
I forgot the name already...
mixed types of fruits with some mini pancakes...

four types of accompaniment for the mini pancakes..
strawberry, peanut butter, chocolate and... maple syrup..

their happy faces....

and exhausting look!

After an hour or so, we got on to our next mission...

oh... it was under renovation....

The Penang International Airport!
Hope to see a more beautiful airport the next time we come...

It was like a bus terminal inside...

nevertheless we checked out the arrival time....
Oh Yes! The plane has landed... on time!

HERE HE IS!!
coming out from the arrival hall.....
Welcome... welcome.....

more pictures tomorrow...

Pearl Of The Orient, Penang!

Gurney.... here I am!!

Yes, I was in Gurney hotel yesterday...
...reached there around noon and
stayed there for one night with my kids..
I had a purpose of going there.. sort of a "reunion"....
But today I am back in IPOH again... sigh...
Anyway, stay tuned for my next few posts on Penang...
I Love Penang!

Summer Camp Horror In Norway

The first thing I heard about this morning when I woke up was, "Did you know what happened in Norway?" In my blurry mind, I did not register what he was saying and did not bother to reply. Minutes later the highlight in the front page of the STAR kind of "shocked" me for some minutes!

Gosh...NORWAY? It is believed to be have the least and lowest crime rates in the whole world. In fact one time Aaron was going to continue his studies there but due to the high standard of living, the idea did not materialize.

It was indeed a BIG SHOCK to the whole world to read that more than 91 people were killed by one lone suspect in a summer youth camp... Very saddening... scenes of my imagination came to my mind, how the victims felt during the trauma of shooting, one by one were shot at...some pretended to be dead and some plunged into the water to escape the massacre... That is real terrifying... thought these only happens in movies, not in real life.... So sad for the victims... a terrifying nightmare....

What is happening to the world now.....

Sunway, Taylors, HELP?

Monash? Taylors? KDU? Sunway or UCSI? HELP college?

Gosh, there are so many colleges nowadays, so many that there are some which I have not heard before in my whole entire life!

During my time, when I finished my MCE, there were only a selective few college/institutes in Ipoh, Goon institute, Ungku Omar Polytechnic (that time considered very prestigious, difficult to crawl in)... only these two I can remember now.. see how few choices we had then! No wonder I end up like today... LOL... no further education to expose my "hidden talents!" (as I have! hahaha....)

Well, today is different.. there are so many universities and colleges and as I said earlier, some sound so "alien" to me...

But alien or not, I need to find out more information for my girl... thinking back, how come I din't have to crack my head for my two boys? Boys, I do not worry much... but when it comes to my girl, I feel my "white hair" has increased tremendously!

Yes, I worry for her.. being a girl... so young, so small... still a "baby" to me.. haiyah! Stop it, Ma!

OK, OK, I stop... I let you decide where to go, what you want to do... but no "over the sea, babe"... Yes, I will miss you like crazy, no doubt.. another thing is... Money Talks... so if you go overseas to study, My Money Cannot Talk.....

awww.. So bad MUM...

My Making Money Online Websites

In my three years of blogging, I have learn a bit here and there about making some "extra pocket money" online. When I started my blog in January 2008, little did I know that blogs can generate some income, if I have known earlier, I would have started long ago since I am the "stay-at-home" type... (ahem....)

Through blog hopping in the middle of 2008, I get to know of these money-making websites listed below.... but before you jump in and register, do have this in mind. Once you write paid posts regularly, your page ranking might be affected.... there are certain websites that Mr. Google can trace to you and after that, you might cry out ... "OH... my PR4 has gone down to 0!!"

So... you see, there are pro and cons if you want to do paid posts in your blog.... my son Andy is very reluctant to do in the beginning, he told me that the paid posts spoils his blog, not personal anymore... but now, he is more money-minded, he writes them without me persuading to....

Back to my story.... I started off humbly with these websites... a mere $3-5usd could sparkle some excitement in my life then, in 2008, $1usd = RM3.40.... The online money making websites are as below...

Payperpost.com - those days I stayed up to "grab" them... nowadays, new version, no need to grab, just register and wait for them to offer you....

Socialspark.com - again, this has a new version nowadays, register yourself and wait to be "offered" tasks...

Infolinks.com - same as the above, register and wait for opportunities to come...

From what I know, these three websites above can sort of "affect" your page ranking so it is up to you whether you mind or not...

Sponsoredreviews.com - I still love to bid for these opportunities, bid and sit back and wait....
their payment comes every two weeks... but nowadays, they want a 50/50 sharing. So for example, if you bid $20.00, you will get $10.00 if advertiser likes you.

Linkworth.com - this one also offers 70/30 sharing, once you reach $25.00, you can request payment. They pays for banners too if they like your blog.

buyblogreviews.com - I don't bid for this one nowadays, they offer very low prices, $3-5usd only...for beginners, you might like to earn something here.

payu2blog.com - I love this one cos for 60 words, you will be paid $5.00. At times they pay $7.00 for 60 words.... just a few lines and you are $5 richer... hahaha...

blogtoprofit.com - I am doing this too but they do not give often. Once awhile... they give you 3 tasks in a row. Pays regularly too.

Er.... what else.... I guess that is about all... my paid posts are mainly consisting of the last two websites. Well, they might be peanuts to you but for me, it is something worthwhile doing... own efforts, own sweat blood money! hahahaa....

If you have any others besides the above websites, hope you can share them here in my comments sheet. I would love to learn and earn .... some extra income is good for our family, right?

Where Am I in 2025

9 MONTHS!  I have been away from this blog for so long... (I thought it was more than a year)  So much have happened and I do not know where...
