Chicken Rice Shop

Before Andy left for college, he wanted to eat the best chicken rice in IPOH.. to him, Pak Kong Chicken Rice shop is the best! It is just next to Rasa Sayang chicken rice along Jalan Theatre.

When we reached there, there was already a queue waiting to "tarpau" and some waiting to be seated. I should have taken a picture of the 2 shops, one filled with people and the other practically quiet and empty. I remember when I was very young, Rasa Sayang was the popular one...

we ordered a plate - both combinations
steamed and roasted chicken

delicious looking??

the "char siew"

japanese taufu

chap-choy (mixed vegetables) is our favorite

For 5 of us, this meal cost RM51 plus drinks....
Well, cheap or expensive, Andy was fully satisfied with this chicken rice shop!!

  8. YUM---looks delicious. My hubby taught in China for awhile --and learned to cook some fabulous stir-fry meals. I always enjoy them when he makes them. We also enjoy going to our local Chinese Buffet... I'm sure none of our similar foods are nearly as good as yours, but for us, it's a nice alternative. YUM!!!

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  38. Was back in Ipoh recently and please....give me another place to go for hawker food at night! Aneka Selera doesn't seem so great anymore!

Wanted to go to YumYum on Firday for their Siamese laksa but being the long weekend, they didn't have their lunch specials!

All in all...not a good foodie trip this time round!

    ReplyDelete
  39. why the chap-choy looks like "ham choy" like that.. XD

    ReplyDelete
  40. ann: i seldom go aneka selera.. unless no more choice.. i prefer to go for dishes instead.. maybe bercham is a better choice next time... compared to those days, ipoh garden food court is ranked much lower now ...

donna: ham choy is actually kai choy ma.. same type of vege...
