Buried Under The Green Green Grass Of Home

COOKING MODE IS ON IN REANACLAIRE'S KITCHEN...

When I have the mood, I would cook a scrumptious meal for the family... Yes, that only happens  when the lazy mode is not around.  My dishes have no frills and fancies, not refined at all, my presentation is very "rough"... in cantonese, it also means "choe loe"... To have a refined dish, I must go for "patience" cooking test....  then perhaps my dishes will be more presentable... and one of the dishes I am going to show here, it is over and beyond presentable.

Saw fresh Golden Pomfrets for sale in AEON and I bought one home for only RM12.00.  Dug my fridge for some condiments such as lemon, lemongrass, big onions and 101 only fresh chilli.   Great, just enough for me to do a Thai style steamed fish.
Just look at my beauty.... with makeup and all the deco....
Now I realize that what's missing are some tomatoes... to go round as well....
Never mind... next time perhaps....
The next thing I did... was to "bury" my beauty....
I think my kids will "faint" if they see all these "grassy" stuff!
With lots and lots of Greens....
Sorry, I do not know what these are called!
Until now I still do not know what I bought....
But they certainly blend well with the fish...
Steam it well for 15 minutes or so..... and after that.....
VIOLA!!!
My One Dish Meal is Done!!
So.....
Anyone dare/care to join me the next time?
*All lari kuat-kuat*
hahahahaa....

  1. First 2 photos, the fish is a beauty.

I also want to faint when I scrolled down and saw what you add. Haha.

Hmm. The green looks like parsley. Or is it coriander? I usually add those green after the steam for that added smell.

But lovely done, Claire. I salute you. Am sure your kids have no complaint and eat it.

  4. As long the cook is hygienic, I am more than happy. An additional bonus if the food is delish.

The farmer whose house I am staying in this rural village have made some nice edibles but she is not hygienic. Flies hovered around food, work surfaces and water. There are things growing in the fridge and in bottled stuff. I am not kidding.

She offered me water melon and the flies swam around it.😳

    Get me out of here!

    2. I left the farm yesterday. I am still on the Aegean Coast of Turkey.

Perhaps, these are healthy flies, lol. I had not been sick yet. I must have more friendly gut bacteria than most people😆

GETTING HEALED AGAIN... this time four of us went to August Healing for other sweet and savoury delights.  This time when we went up to the little cafe, the tables were all occupied except for one.  Next time we must not go during lunch time.  Mistake....  Anyway, we managed to get a table near the window while waiting for another two of my friends to arrive.  First time visit for them and I hope they like the food there as much as I like them.  We ordered three different varieties to share as we had a heavy breakfast in the morning....  Which shall I choose? Berries bread pudding today....  Forgot what this is called....  Garlic honey scones...  Coffee for my friends.... As for me, I had Chamomile tea....  We ordered one croissant to share.... Smoked duck and omelette fillings... Full to the brim... RM15....  Quiche again.... different fillings this time... RM15 And a Happy Birthday piece of cheese cake... RM14.. Though just a few varieties, we were very full.... For dinner, I just ha

BUNS AND PIES... freshly baked with Love.... printed on a brown paper bag, delivered by her handsome son right to my doorstep!  LOL.... Saw it on Facebook, one of my friends put up the fresh curry buns she ordered.  Yours truly saw and salivated and the next thing, I have the details I needed.  During the weekdays, the Breadlady has different kinds of buns and on Saturdays, she makes shepherd pies.  Since I got the details on Friday, I quickly messaged her and ordered 5 packets!  No, I did not eat them all, I ordered for my friends too, they have the same common interest as I do.  LOL...  ' Each set of shepherd pie comes with 2 fresh buns costing RM15.   I like her packing.... Brown paper bag with this slogan... Freshly baked with love...  The pies were still warm when they were delivered to right to  my doorstep with no extra charge... So nice! BREAKFAST PLANS.... and we had Dim Sum this morning in First Garden.  We made the plans the night before to meet at the shop at 9am...  (A relief for me cos I had been waking up very early these days!)   Managed to get a big table for six pax, thanks to two of my friends who were there earlier than 9.  Except for the SOP procedures, it looks like business were back to normal in some areas.  We spent around an hour enjoying the below Dim Sum and we would be meeting again for lunch later!  Opppsss... it is all about eating again during this time of RMCO... (Recovery Movement Control Order) First to be served... the Dim Sum-s... And the total cost for our orders came to RM60.... Definitely a good deal... I am definitely full.... for now! LOL...
