We had our lunch at Sun Lee How Fook Restaurant in Kampar Road at around 12pm.... our first meal of the day... We have never came here before together with my family and since they are back in Ipoh, we celebrated Mother's Day very early in advance.......

We booked a room for our "special meal"
 Happy faces...

We ordered the Poon Choy set...
First came 4 different types of appetizers...
honey combed chicken with crispy rice...
Not sure what this was.. never tasted it before..
but it was good...
fried fish and prawn paste...
then came the main dish...
Poon Choy in Sun Lee How Fook Restaurant
the "Mothers"
granny and the grandkids.....
for dessert, I bought mixed JJ swiss cakes...
Soon it was time to go home...
everyone feeling satisfied and full...

Family In Red

Aaron reached home around 2am... my eyes were already half closed so we didn't end up chatting much... This morning all of us got up quite late, we had our first meal in Koe Lei in old town. Aaron wanted to take rice, it had been a week since he last eaten rice because he has not been well for the past week.... yes, he looks slimmer than last month... hope I can "fatten" him up these few days... :)

After our lunch, we drove to Jaya Jusco Kinta City and had our second meal there... Baskin Robbins desserts!
we ordered a bit here and there....
my "baby"....
eeeweee.....
cough, cough, go away...
"I want to take durians!"
Notice something?
The four of us didn't plan to wear red....
We didn't realize it until we were at the porch...
looking from one to the other and laughing out loud...
So...should I say...
"Family members think alike?"

Accessories For Riding Bike

It is definitely thrilling at the feeling sense of freedom and exhilaration when we zoom down the coastway roads on a bike. It is definitely entrancing, the way the wind combs its fingers in your hair and the power that seems to flow right out of your fingertips to fuel the bike. Whilst it is definitely fun to own a bike, there is also a price to pay in order to keep your bike in tip top condition. These days, the cost of repairing and maintaining a bike could end up costing almost the cost of a new bike. Spare parts are hard to come by, especially if your bike is older or of a rare edition. This leads to the need to have a source for surdyke spare parts.  From here, there is a wide selection of all the original parts, accessories including the motorclothes to meet your riding needs!  The best thing is you’ll be able to get a huge variety of parts from a wide variety of sources all in one place. The peace of mind of having these a click away is definitely reassuring !

A Thank You Post

Anxiously, both of us waited till it was past midnight the night before then we clicked onto this university website to find out about the status of admission.  We thought that the admission results would be out then... but it was not....

Couldn't sleep well cos I was still thinking of the application status, finally woke up at 5.40am to log in to check but then again, it was not ready...

Went to office and the first thing, where did my fingers go?  Yes, to the website again... (now you know this mum is overly anxious, right?)

And alas, the "application status" is there alright!!  I clicked onto it and they asked for password etc.... with trembling fingers and thumping heart, I typed in whatever needed.....

I was thinking if I see a long letter, it means Accepted... if rejected, it would be a short email.....

and.... it was indeed a very short one.. just two sentences.....saying "congratulations..... etc etc....." and please download the following links to print out the offer letter....

I let out a BIG sigh of relief....silently murmuring.."Thank you.. Thank you"

What I prayed for...  He has answered.... I am so thankful.....

Thank you for your wishes..

Thank you Father for answering my prayers....

Next step is.... getting ready....

In two weeks time, my girl will be leaving the nest.....

Scholarships Do and Don't's

After our lunch in Mid Valley, we took a cab to the college for the interview... it started around 1.30pm and my girl had hers around 3pm... within 15 minutes she was out... :)  the chances?  hhmmm....

It was raining, it was pouring... both of us were like stranded in the college.. but we managed to get a lift from two students who arranged to drop us at KL Central, in time to take our train ride back to Ipoh....
another interview over and done with...
my girl quite like this college...
Tomorrow I am supposed to take my girl for another scholarship interview in a university in Cheras ... but after much thinking and so much inconvenience involved, we decided to forgo this interview.

Ok, the purpose of this post is to give a word of advice for parents with school going kids...

For those SPM students, do remember this...

It is advisable to go for Education Fair during the December or January holidays...
It is better for you to register early in college, to enroll in before the results are out...
You can still claim your scholarship from them when the SPM results are out....
Don't wait too long like I do... scholarships in certain colleges are on "first come, first serve" basis... I didn't know that till today....

Secondly, don't apply for too many scholarships... they make us "pening".... "giddy"...

Thirdly, don't be so fickled-minded like me... "this one?  that one?? which college? which Uni?"

Finally, after all these questions I imposed on myself, my girl told me to go and study too!  Cheeky!!
Anyway, wherever she may go...
 To God Be The Glory..

Star Scholarship Interview In Kuala Lumpur

Took leave to take my girl to Kuala Lumpur.  Both of us left for the train station around 7.30am to catch the ETS to Kuala Lumpur Central.  The interview was held at 2pm in the afternoon....
Morning ticket is expensive.... one seat cost RM45.00
Came with free bun and hot drink....
Upon reaching KL central, it was only around 10.30am
and since there was ample time left,
we took a cab from the station to Mid Valley...
first time venturing out to KL alone with my girl....
let her relax first before going for the interview...
after window shopping for an hour,
we landed ourselves here....
The Chilli!
a picture to remember...
we ordered Firecracket fish... or something like that....
we shared it out...
plus an enormous dessert...
Should I "wallop" it all???

After our so-called lunch in Chili, we took a cab to the college for the 2pm interview.  I was quite blur, I didn't know that there are executive cabs outside Mid Valley, both of us just climbed into the first cab waiting there.  The cab driver was nice and honest... he told us that his is an executive cab (it was not a limousine) and the charges will be a bit higher...  I ended up paying RM16 for a 10-15 minutes drive... not too bad actually...

tomorrow's post - interview...

Ex-Main Convent Girls' Dinner

Received two sms from two of my ex-classmates of 1977, mentioning about a dinner meet-up in Kok Thai Restaurant at 7.30pm. I have missed a few gatherings before this and when I received the sms-es, I told myself that I must be there! LOL...

Firstly, it has been some time since I last met up with my ex-schoolmates, it would be very interesting to see them once again.. some whom I have not met up since 1977... gosh! That goes a long way back, right?

Secondly, this gathering was held in Kok Thai Restaurant, the place I would love to go again and again for their food...

I went to pick up Liza around 7pm and when we entered, Yin Pheng was already there.... while waiting for the others, we ordered our food so that by the time they come, our stomachs would be ready to "wallop!"  LOL...
Pheng, taken from your FB....
 Pheng and Theresa
some "bear-hugs" upon arrival...
then came the appetizer...
we ordered their signature "steamed chicken" (Yuk Lan Kai)
assam seafood curry
four season vegetables....
Oh, how I love this... the pork tendons...
beancurd with *singkwa" (not sure what it is called in english)
claypot melon with glass noodles (simple and nice!)
plus our dessert.... pear, ginseng, wolfberries... etc...
