Singing Practice

I love singing and I love to go karaoke but unfortunately I didn’t get to go as much as I wanted to because most of my friends don’t like to. What should I do? My friend suggested that I buy my own karaoke microphones and a good set of speakers and player!   I thought of getting one nice microphone, something like shure sm7b, it might "help" my voice to make it sound better... hahaa.... Then I can sing all I wanted to, alone or with company. But he told me that I better close my door before I sing, my neighbors might complain, so he said!
