Beautiful Bath in UK

BATH... It is my second visit to this city, famous for its hot springs and history with stunning Georgian architecture.  The tour guide told us that the Netflix series Bridgerton was filmed here in this beautiful city.  We passed where the Lady Danbury "stayed" and those who watched this series will know who I meant.  :)

The first time I visited Bath, my kids and I just walked around the city and had lunch here.  This second time, we went inside the famous Bath, where the famous Romans really bathed in this place below.  Well, is it worth paying the expensive ticket to go in?  Unless you are really into Roman history, otherwise, please skip.  LOL.... As for our group, we had to go in cos it was included in our excursion.  No joke, we paid quite a hefty sum for this day tour in UK.

Come, since we were here, let me show you a picture or two.... LOL...

At the entrance, waiting to go in.... and Bath....

There were audio sets awaiting for us...
All we have to do it is to press the number and the history lessons will begin....
In the beginning some of us did that...
After two or three presses, we were done!
No lessons please....
We just walked along and this is the Bath where the Romans took...
I wonder what colour the water was during those days...
Hot spring spa... still hot till this day...
And we came out after that....
What a waste for us who are not into History!
I just wanna rest... after the long 24 hour journey...
The Georgian buildings around the city...
Nice to walk and relax if we are staying there...
Instead we "chilled" out here while waiting for the rest....
We should have explored MORE...
When it was time to move on, we were told that
Primark is just opposite where we were sitting!!
Gosh... what a waste!!

River Avon And The Circus, Bath

AS WE STROLLED ALONG THE BATH CITY, we came across the beautiful sights of River Avon and spent some moments there including a light lunch at a pub restaurant overlooking the folds of the river.... Then we proceeded on our walk around the city including the Bath market and Aaron directed us to a place called Circus and the Royal Cresent.  We have to take a long walk up descending street.. pheww.... a very challenging walk for me going up, coming down though is not a problem.... and after our nearly five hours of walking around the city, we called it a day.... Sitting back on the car seat was a Big Relief for my weary legs.  Age is not a number?  For me, age is definitely showing on me... I have walked almost 20K steps in those four hours tour!  Phew.... no wonder I could eat like a horse after that!!

Walking to the River Avon....
Yes, having a rest here...
And to admire the beautiful folds of the Avon River...
There is a history behind the river...
We spent some moments here taking lots of photos...
And since we were there, we joined our fellow tourists here for a light lunch...
But we wouldn't want to eat under the sun.... cos we are Asians...  LOL...
We preferred the cooling air inside....
And mussels in some creamy sauce and wine is their specialty...
These came in a set minus the bottle of sparkling lemon juice....
It was around 13 pounds if not mistaken...
Our walking resumed after the light break....
Walking here and there with Aaron's directions... he has been here before...
He always like to take us to markets....
Food and souvenirs at every corner...
But we did not buy anything.... at all... just look see....
And from the market, we walked uphill to a place called Circus...
My girl did a "performance" when we reached there... it was a upheaval walk for me..
I thought of doing the same like the others here... lazing around...
And the background is the Circus cos the houses are "curved" like in a circus tent...
Our Bath for the day....
Back to Cardiff for the third night....
And the next day we left for London....

Street Performance At Romans Bath Abbey

ON THE THIRD DAY, Aaron drove to Bath, it was more than an hour drive from Cardiff.  Though the journey took more than one and half hours from Cardiff, Aaron preferred to stay in Cardiff so that we do not have to pack and go from one place to another.  It can be very "stressful" for the mother to leave from one place to another so he rather drive a bit longer to our next destination.  Yes, the place is called Bath... *if I did not come to Wales, I would not have heard of this place before*

Bath is best known for its Roman-built baths, the city became a spa when the Romans built baths and a temple in the valley of the River Avon.  The Romans took advantage of the area's natural hot springs by building the majestic Roman Baths, now a UNESCO heritage site.  Another attraction is the city's elegant Georgian architecture and it is best appreciated on foot.

And that was exactly what we did when we arrived in Bath... we managed to get a parking near the train station, five hours for around 5 pounds.  From there we walked from one part to another and imagine we have walked for few hours around the town, fully amazed by its historic buildings and houses, all of the same colour.  The town looks so neat and Roman-nic like...
After more than an hour drive from Cardiff, we arrived in Bath....
We walked from the train station to the tourist street...
At the happening place...
Music was in the air along the streets,
First thing, we looked for food, it was almost noon...
The shop which caught our eyes...
Sweet or savoury... hmmm... which one to choose...
Oh, if we eat here, they will cost a bit more... if we take away, these goodies are cheaper...
We decided to take away, just sat at the bench some footsteps away from the shop....

This is the place where the attraction is... Bath Abbey....
A lively piazza which is often filled with musicians and street artists....
Here and there, people everywhere....
We joined in the crowd.... taking pictures and listening to the music....
Near the Bath's famous spa...

At the traffic free Abbey Churchyard....
And the two ladies joined in the crowd.. relaxing and listening to
one handsome artiste with his classical guitar.. yes, I took some video clips....
Too good to miss that....
Too many pictures to withhold.....
We ended up doing some street performance too...
But no one paying us any pennies... LOL.....
