Roundup Of My Trip In Cameron Highlands

BACK IN ACTION...Yes, I hope from this day onwards, my posts will be updated daily again.... No excuses other than poor time management and laziness to even open the "blogger.com" browser...
My Cameron trip photos are occupying a lot of space in my handphone, in this post, I will round up everything in one go.

The weather was very cooling up in Camerons, it was not school holidays when we were there.  Never go there during the school hols, everywhere seems to be so crowded and the traffic is terrible at most parts on the hill.  But of course, with school kids, it is not possible to go at other times, not like us retirees, with our kids all grown up and away, we only have each other company to keep us entertained.  Almost like we were in our unmarried days again, only difference is that our physical appearance and our body battery is not as strong as before!  LOL...

A roundup of the 2 nights 3 days stay in Camerons....
Kea Garden in Cameron...
Plenty of guest houses around the vicinity....

Can even opt for mini chalets....
I was fascinated....
Just have to crawl into these guest houses...
The last I heard it was RM100 per chalet...
Equipped with a small TV and clean bed...
However I think I won't be comfortable here...
This auntie needs private toilet...
Smokehouse for tea....
Their fresh warm scones and strawberry jam is worth paying for.....
My friends led us up to a vegetable farm....
Our national flower as big as my hand...
Or was it someone else's hand??
Morning walks and exercise!
Having a good time with my gang....
Yes, we would love to go up Camerons one day....
Wait till the kids go back to school and it is the retirees' turn again!
LOL...

Our Two Nights Stay Apartment In Cameron Highlands

MY LONG ABSENCE.... Too much happenings, don't know where to start so the best option is to continue with my travel posts... the last mentioned was in Camerons....

We stayed in a Air BnB in Brinchang, a friend's place which is situated at the ground floor.  Very cheap and nice, we were very satisfied with the place.  Weather was cooling and I had to wear a thick sweater to keep warm.
This is the place we stayed for two nights....
The entrance door and my suitcase???
What is it doing there?
Decorations on the wall....
Simple and nice.....
And the three rooms....
Only one room has attached bathroom...
This apartment can house around 10 people...
The two ladies checking out the kitchen....
And another part of the day, we just did this!
LOL..

Getaway Weekday Trip To Cameron Highlands

UPHILL....

It has been two years since I last made an overnight trip to Cameron Highlands.  It was an impromptu trip, we only talked about it a couple of nights and the next day, all was arranged and done.  My friend rented the apartment from her niece, for two nights, we got a good deal, each of us only paid RM50 for a two nights stay.  Of course, it was an off peak season, otherwise we could not get the good deal offer.  LOL.... My friends planned everything from A to Z, they even went marketing to buy all the food stuff needed, pre-cooked some to take up for our steamboat dinner in the evening.  The weather was very cooling and nice, we had to wear our jackets especially in the evenings and mornings.

Started off our journey by eating something light from Ipoh cos we have planned to take something good for lunch in Tringkap.  On the way, we stopped at a place called Green View Garden for some desserts before proceeding for our lunch.  Hmmmm... desserts before main meal?
Our first stop....
Where the desserts are sold...
Sweet temptations....
Which shall I choose....
None...
We ended up eating ice creams!
And our lunch at Tringkap.... Fried Crispy Fish....
Very nicely done!
With curry leaves and hot spicy chili...
Fresh beans but also known as asparagus beans...
Fried Mushrooms....
Okra with sambal paste...
And the wild ferns....
Oh yes... some fried chicken as well....
A very scrumptious meal for the six of us...
All finished in no time!

New KEA Garden At Cameron Highlands

KEA FARM IS JUST SOME WALKING DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE COPTHORNE HOTEL... the last time I came was three years back and there was only the Kea Farm, no Kea Garden yet.  I remember there are two rows of stalls selling fruits, vegetables and souvenirs only.... but now KEA Garden is the latest addition and I could see they are still renovating.  Expanding is more like it..... The next time I come, I am sure there will be something new to explore again....
Along the KEA Farm, this is the latest addition...
KEA Garden... and I wonder what they had in store then....
There is an entrance in and a different exit when coming out.... no turning back...
Meet up with different types of vegetables grown in Cameron Highlands...
I can rest my legs as we walked along...
There is a stairway leading to the basement...
Upon entering, colourful flowers welcome the guests....
It is free... I mean the entrance is free of charge....
Taking pictures with the flowers are also free...  :)
So this auntie takes opportunity to pose here and there...
But don't ask me what the names are.... I am "lost"
I guess they are for sale too....
Souvenir stalls are available at the lower ground...
Can these last in Ipoh?  I wonder....
nahhh... this auntie is tired liow....
There is a small cafe to cater us.....
We had a cooling rest here...
Can admire the beautiful scenery behind us while sipping the Cameron Tea....
On the way out, we bought some greens before proceeding back to our hotel to check out....
Bye Camerons... till we meet again...
perhaps in another couple of years!

Hot Scones And Tea At Old Smokehouse, Cameron Highlands

ACTUALLY WE DID NOT BOOK ANY HOTEL IN ADVANCE, it was a last minute trip up to Cameron Highlands.  On the way we called up several hotels to check out their rates, yes, we compared their walk-in rates with an online website.  To our surprise, the online website is cheaper than the phone calls to the hotels.  I quickly made the reservation online and on the way up, we passed by this hotel.....

No, we did not stay here.... just went in to look-see...
Part of the exterior looks like this....
And at the lobby....
Looks very "english" in a way too...
After that, we proceeded to the one that we booked...
Copthorn and formerly known as Equatorial Hotel three years ago...
Okay, I fast forward to the next day where we had tea and hot scones before we left for Ipoh..
We dropped by at Ye Old Smokehouse again... to meet up with our friend...
We choose a nice ambiance to have our tea at the garden...

Hot scones which cost RM10 per piece....
Though our tea was on the house, I was like.... "Oooo...."
Jakun me!

My friend told me to take a closer picture of this famous scone....
It was still warm to our hands and soft....
For RM10, I savoured every bite...
hahahahaa....

Their own special cream and special strawberry jam....
Seems the chef did the jam himself and they are sold at RM19 for a small jar...
My afternoon tea at the Smokehouse...
Must keep this as a momento...
Thanks to our friend and her hospitality while we were there....
