Food Outing To Chemor Town

AN OUTING WITH MY FRIENDS TO CHEMOR!!

Forget about my disability, I still need to be fed at least once a day outside... Inconvenient, as I said again and again, but once I am seated, all will be well and normal....
Though it was cloudy, it did not rain and we reached Chemor around 1pm...
The moment we were seated, here was my expression!!
I didn't know I was captured on candid camera...
hahahahaa....
Two bottles of chicken essence among the tea leaves she brought....
hahahahaa...
I thought she was going to pour down into our fish noodles!
No, she said we should drink to Good Health!
Cheerssssss!!
Yes, we ordered a bowl of fish noodles which the shop is famous for.....
And a bowl of fish maw, wanton and fish balls......
And I have been missing this...

Messily fried....  but finished all the same....
Though the food has nothing to shout about, I am so happy to be out......
Thank you friends for taking me for a drive again!!

Drunken Prawns, Confinement And Fish Noodles At Tanah Hitam

TALKING ABOUT FOOD ADVENTURES, my friends did some "research" online and after some clicks, they found what they were looking for.  This time it is Tanah Hitam!  Er... frankly... I never heard of Tanah Hitam before, seriously.. if not for my foodie friends, I would have not known and come here last Friday.  Tanah Hitam is somewhere after Chemor town.... and I was looking forward to our mini trip....
After some turnings....
my efficient driver friend managed to find what we were aiming for...
Really appreciate the skillful driver... hahahaa...

There are two shops which we wanted to go.. but we opted for this first...
The second one will be another day... I suppose....
Happy because we were blessed...
If we come a bit later, the shop would be closed by then...
Now what shall we order??
We ended up ordering Three Bowls....
Fish in wine noodles...
A closer look... so yummy!
And this is a seafood confinement noodles...
Prawns with ginger eggs...
Funny combination called confinement....
Feeling greedy, we ordered one more...
Drunken prawns noodles!
And we couldn't resist this Ice Kacang... to be shared!
After some minutes......
Thumbs UP for the food!!

A Foodie Trip From Ipoh To Chemor

YAY!!! TODAY IS THE DAY!!
Through "watsapp", we the three retirees finally met up  this morning at 10.30am... I was all ready to be "picked up" by my ex-colleagues and we were looking forward to a day of Food!
The Foodie Trio!!

We started off with a Duck Project and the place is called Old Friends Restaurant.  It is located on the main road leading to Chemor town.  The Duck project had been put off many times before due to our busyness and this morning we finally made it to that place....

Though we reached there around 11.30am, the ducks were nearly all "booked"...
There were only two left for sale, we overheard....
This is the first time I get to taste this...
No wonder they get sold out fast... the meat was really tender and "yup mei!"
Don't need any sweet sauce to go with them at all...
Thumbs up for the food!
After our scrumptious lunch, we continued on with our foodie trip to a small town, Chemor...
We stopped here at this shop famous for their fish head and seafood noodles....

Since we were already "half-full" we ordered just a bit to try... to satisfy our curiosity...
A bit of this and that... fish maw, fish paste and wanton...
And the soup has this cilantro taste which really suited our taste buds!

We planned to go there some day to try the seafood noodles and fish head!
Worth making another trip there.. perhaps next Friday???
Along the same row, something caught our "beauty eyes!"
hahahahaa...
 DURIANS!
There and then, the vendor opened up one for us to eat....
And my friend ended up buying the rest of them!

The durian vendor is so cute...
And the durians are Very creamy and bittersweet!!

Ok, we promised him that we would advertise his durians...
They were sold for RM8 each... good buy..
They are called "Da-nau"

Oh, he has these "Crystal Jackfruits" too...
Did I get it correct?
Yes, we need to "advertise" these as well...
It is all in a Package.. hahahaha...
Otherwise we couldn't get them cheap...
He even gave us his phone number...
Call him in advance so that we won't be disappointed!
Mike Mar... no joke!!
Durians all sold out to my friend...
Even coconuts were finished too!
Everyone was Happy And Satisfied with the outcome in Chemor....

But that is not the end of the food trip for us....
From Chemor, we drove all the way to First Garden to visit this lady....
Her smooth homemade Tau Fu Far!
Just look at me!  My double chin is coming up next!
Rounded faces could be seen even from afar!
Yes, our foodie trip from 11am till 3pm....
Phew... what a Full-Filling Day!
Thank you for the Food-Fillment, ladies!

Close Work Lunch At Chemor Village

We still get "connected" though a few of us have retired... when it comes to FOOD, nothing can deter us from gathering together and have a good time sharing laughter!  Chinese New Year is around the corner and this is the best excuse to arrange a Close Shop Lunch (Sau Koong Chau) before ushering in the Chinese Lunar New Year...

May Tan recommended that we go for Crispy Duck in Chemor... and the eight of us ended up driving in two cars up north, some twenty minutes away from First Garden.  Upon reaching, it is already closed and will only reopen after CNY....

Well, that did not dampen our foodie mood, we just had to hop over to the next shop there...
May Tan recommended that this shop also serves good food...
Thumbs up even before the food is served!
hahahaha...
Dishes recommended by the Man are as follows...
Roasted Pork with lots of garlic...
Very "heong!"
Thumbs up!
Next is the "Sang Yue" soup....
Another signature dish recommended
My girl loves it very much..
Especially it was served by one sweet lady...
Stinky beans with minced meat...
Thumbs UP!
This is "9th leaves flowers"
Steamed clams in wine...
I like the soup... very nice...
Nice outing!
More Thumbs UP...
For more Gatherings and Good Food!!
Yay!!
