A Night To Remember in 2023

A BELATED BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION POST... 

Yes, almost a month already since my birth-day, I have these pictures taken before I got Covid.  At least I had a pre-celebration with my love ones then.  On the real day, I stayed in bed all by myself, quarantined and being a good girl for five whole days before I really went out again.  I tested myself almost everyday, from two clear lines to faint and then totally one line disappeared.

Anyway, Thank God, I am fine now, even though I could feel some after effects like breathing wholely as before, other than that, it is all good.  If those who have covid before, they will know what I meant when it comes to breathing.  This time I did not cough as serious as the first time, I feel eating cordyceps and tiger milk helps as I have been taking them for some months now.

Back to my post, my son and family flew to Penang a few days before my Big Day and we had dinner at Chinese Recreation Club.  Dinner was good and of course, the company with my love ones are even better.  Thanks to all of them who made this day memorable....

WAIT...WAIT....  I nearly missed out posting this important day of my life... one year older and er... wiser, I hope!  LOL...

This year I marked my one year older in Sacramento for the first time in my life.... 

I have a lovely surprise on that day, my kids were supposed to come a day after my birthday because it was a working day on my B-dat.  I assumed they must be working but they already planned to come a day earlier to give me a surprise... LOL... 

Anywaysss.... 

I am so happy to see them especially the little one.... and I love these little gifts from them!!

So sweet of them to prepare these lovely cards with printed pics inside.... 

Will keep them with me always!

Birthday And New Year Cake 2021

MISSING YOU TOO...

AA misses us as much as we miss him.  So many thousands of miles away and even though we wanted to fly over, it is still not possible at this time.  Like many others, our love ones are separated from each other for more than a year now.  I am "yearning" to fly again and I cannot.... I have to be patient... 

Though he is not here in Ipoh, we still contact one another through phone and see each other almost every day.  We received Christmas gifts and yesterday, we received an enormous cake from him!  He knows his brother likes chocolate and tiramisu and somehow, he managed to get this cake sent even though he is so far away from us.  LOL... 

The cake was delivered at 3pm as per request....

Gifts On My Birthday

SURPRISE!!!

I can only think of one good thing that Covid brings upon me this year.  Only one.... that is... I have my kids with me.  Though not all of them, at least I have two with me for some time now.  They go back on and off to their working town and then come back again after awhile.  So this year, I get to see them the most in their 10 years of working life! 

On this day they are here with me and I had a beautiful surprise this morning!  I have been thinking for the past few days, wondering whether they remember my B-day or not... LOL... they gave no hint whatsoever, these kids!  I almost doubted that they remember at all... LOL... 

After my zoom meeting with my church members around 11plus, I walked into the living hall and received a big "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" shout from them.  Ok, not really a shout la, just a bit louder than the normal voice tone.... LOL... 

On the table laid a bouquet of flowers, cakes and buns from Shake n Bake.... After the Happy Birthday singing, cutting the cake and all... came my present of the year.  LOL... 

YAY!  I finally have a phone model newer than them!  LOL... 

Though not the latest 12 model, it is still newer than 

the ones my kids are using... hahaha...

Dining Out At Dozo Japanese Restaurant

JAILHOUSE BREAK...

For the first time since March 18th, I dined out with my friends a couple of nights ago.  At first we thought of food delivery but it was kind of a special day, we forgo the idea of delivery.  Since Ipoh is kind of "green zone".. we plucked up our courage and made a reservation at Dozo, a Japanese restaurant.  We went there early at 5.30pm, upon entering, we have to sanitize our hands, scan the Wesejahtera app and filled in our details.  Then we were ushered to our dining table.

No more back to back table but three of us could be seated at the same table.  No point going if each of us had to be seated separately, right?  Then came the empty plates and they were still very warm to my touch.  Hmmm... kind of comforting though... No more sushi-s on the moving belt like those days, we just had to take our orders from the menu.

Birthday Celebration

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION...

No, it is not my birthday, too early.... It was a last minute planning surprise birthday for a sweet young girl.  Initially we had planned to go out for dinner in a Chinese restaurant, however two days prior to the dinner, someone suggested why not have the birthday celebration in the house instead.  More people can join in, more fun, more food and of course, put in some singing and dancing... that is more special, right?  LOL....

And so we had the party right in the garden.... we cook some, we bought some, friends brought some.. started off with grilled burger, barbeque ribs, salad, fried noodles, chicken, desserts and ended with a birthday cake.  Then the singing started... followed by dancing exercises!

He really loves doing the burgers for everybody here...

And the party lasted till darkness fell...

I hope everybody enjoyed the celebration...

Birthday Dinner At STG, Ipoh

PRE CELEBRATION BIRTHDAY... started in Ipoh... it is not his actual day yet but since the three were back during the festive season, we might as well celebrate together.  We went to STG at Taman Chateau, a Tea House Cafe in a double storey bungalow turned cafe with a nice homely ambiance.  The ground floor was already full and reservations were being booked in advance and we were ushered to the first floor, up the wooden stairs, plank flooring to a very nice room which reminded me of my childhood days when I stayed in a shophouse in town. 

We browsed through the menu and ended up ordering one main dish for each of us followed by starters such as soup and escargots... Oh gosh, what are escargots?  I just ordered never realizing there are actually from the snail family!  Nevertheless, we ended up eating one each, they really looked like giant snails to me, stuffed with some cheese and spices and we have to "poke" the flesh out of their hard shells. 

Hot to our touch... that is the consolation... 

Wild mushroom soup and bisque soup.. something like lobster... 

A very funny taste and we did not really like it... 

However I like my pasta with scallops...

Very tasty... they suit my taste buds.. 

Andy's friend ordered Seafood Carbonara... 

My girl's Baked Salmon... very nicely done too..

Birthday Bash At Morganfield's And Take A Break, Ipoh

MISSED THEM VERY MUCH... and a longing to catch up with my ex-colleagues...

Come Friday, we arranged to meet up at Morganfield's restaurant in Greentown business centre.  Never been there before and to our delight, they had a lunch promotion on that day.  We ordered a slab of ribs for each of us, it cost around RM30 over for the set lunch.  The meal was tasty and nice but most important, our getting together was the main attraction.  Looking back at the pictures, I think I could land myself for "dental advertisement" provided that they do not take my age in consideration!  LOL...

And here we are.... my group of friends who draw laughter each time we get together!

Oh yeah, I must mention this!

Before we dug into the ribs, there was this handsome guy who came round 

and helped us wear the Big Bib around our neck.... 

Partly he was the reason that drew more smiles from us aunties!

And not only that, I received cash voucher from Morganfield's 

... And...a Red Packet from my friends!  LOL...

When evening came, we went to Take A Break to listen to the songs of yesteryears... 

We had white curry noodles...

And their signature dish... Ona Laksa which is the best so far I have tasted... 

The night ended with a piece of their special cake as well...
