Rice Bowl Restaurant Specials

EVERY SINCE WE KNOW THAT THEIR MEALS ARE $24 FOR THREE TO FOUR PERSONS, we think of going there again and again for our lunch or dinner... after all, it is not too far from our home, their service is quick, the staff are friendly and most of all, the food is tasty too!
Yes, Rice Bowl is the name of the restaurant....
The staff speak Cantonese over here too.... Owner must be from Hong Kong...
Ambience not too bad either...
Can feel at home here... mostly Asians...
Manager on the go.....
Double boiled soup...
Beef with greens....
Crispy Fried Fish...
Steamed Yellow Chicken....
Three dishes with complimentary soup....
And free Herbal Jelly....
The bill comes to $24!!
We can even "packet" back the remainder (small eaters)
and eat them the next day....
For these reasons, we came back again and again for our meal....

California State Fair

For more than 160 years, the California State Fair has showcased the best of California. The seventeen-day Fair is a robust celebration of California, its industries, agriculture and diversity of its people. The California State Fair is a popular summer destination with plenty of entertainment, fascinating exhibits, popular livestock shows, mouthwatering food and the largest tasting of California award-winning wines. We look forward to seeing you at the 2015 California State Fair July 10-26 where we plan to make the best even better!
*An excerpt from http://calexpo.com*

THAT WAS WHAT WE DID... My BIL took us to the California State Fair a few days before we were due to fly back, so nice of him for the drive took around forty five minutes to reach...

Summer was really Hot here in California....
No wonder the song goes... "It never rains in California"
At the entrance... security checkpoint where we have to open our bags...
Entrance fee was $10 for seniors.... and $17 for adults...

Hot.. hot.... they have sprinklers for sale in most stalls...
The heat kept the people away..
As for us, we went up a monorail to have the picture on the whole area... $5 for one ride...
Evenings are normally more crowded....
It was noon when we arrived... temperature was around 100 degrees....
Phew... just imagine how "cooling" it is... hahahaa...
But that did not deter us from this Grilled Turkey Leg with BBQ sauce!
It cost $13 cos it is an enormous one....
My auntie and I shared this Leg....
Don't underestimate the size.. both of us nearly couldn't finish it all.... !
After that, lots of walking and hiding inside the air con halls...
Some of the counties I have been to...
My BIL told me I have traveled to 25 counties during my 2 months holidays!
And on the way out, their singing made me stop and listen...
Nice combination of voices....
I guess they are rehearsing for the evening's performance...
There are many more pictures I have taken and it was an eye opening experience...
But because of the heat, we cut short our "walk"
Next time if I have a chance to come again,
it would definitely be an evening where it is more cooling...

My Favourite Place Is Leatherby's!

IF LEATHERBY'S WERE TO OPEN A BRANCH IN IPOH, I would be their loyal fan!!  Their creamy-licious ice cream is simply irrestible!!  Of all the eatery places I have been to for these two months, I will miss Leatherby's the most.  That is why I got to come by here again before I go back...

Dropped by at 5.30pm... Hot sun shining above....
The crowd was already there...
So am I... Ready to order.....
Waiting patiently to order from this guy who was busy doing his task....
Sigh..... We have to be very patient....
So....,while waiting for our food, we made our presence known here... Hahahaa..
This is something special.... Fresh crab sandwich!  Great choice.....
And the star attraction is Rich's Banana Split... !!
*Salivating while I post this*
Here is the defination...... $10.59... Good deal, right?
Yummy yummy yum yum!!!
Bye bye Leatherby's.... Hope to see you in another couple of months....or years...

Beverly Hills, Here I Am...

ON THE VERY LAST DAY IN LOS ANGELES and after checking out, we took a drive to Beverly Hills, a place I heard so much about ever since i was a young girl... Couldn't conceal my excitement when my Bil suggested that  we should do some sight seeing downtown... And soon....
We arrived here.... Beverly Hills!
Tourists like us, perhaps....
From any angle, we see tourists like us....
At the park...actually I was quite disappointed.... It was not properly maintained....
My BIL told me to blog about this... Maybe someone will do a better job on the park after that...
We drove past some mansions along Beverly Hills Drive....
Nice and quiet neighbourhood....
We din't have a tour guide so we don't know where Tom Cruise is staying... Hahaha...
Wherever the stars are, it does nit matter....
As long as I am here now... That is what matters... :)
My dream becomes reality.....
