EASTER BRUNCH IN SONOMA

EASTER SUNDAY spent at Oakland Golf Club in Sonoma.  We started off our two hours journey around 10am for our Easter brunch at the club house.  Since our reservation was at 1pm, we stopped at the condo to have a short rest before proceeding to the club.  This is my first Easter overseas and I am so thankful for such an opportunity and memorable experience.

The Oakland Golf Club caters 60 people only at one time, our reservation was at 1pm and since there were 12 of us, tables and chairs had to be prepared before we could enter the club.  Brunch was at $35 with 18.5% tax so it was more or less $45 per pax.  It was an all American food... not international styled and I think my worth of food eaten came to around $10 or so only.  LOL...  Yes, I am definitely a big fan of western food though I was hungry by the time we were led to be seated...

Getting ready to set out for our Easter Brunch....
Filled with gladness and thankfulness....
At the condo and at the entrance of the club while waiting to be seated...
Saw this unique chair at the entrance...

The twelve of us... minus yours truly who took this picture....
My first round....

Second round...
My omelette without cheese...
Benedict Egg?  No, I didn't take this...
Too many eggs for my liking... LOL...
Dropped by the condo again after our brunch...
Beautiful Flowers bloomed at the porch...
Then....It was another two hours drive back to Sacramento...
Till we see you again...
Maybe in another month or so....
Blessed Easter!

Hiking And Camping Sugarloaf Ridge State Park

THE NEXT MORNING WE DID SOME WORKOUT BEFORE WE HEADED BACK TO SACRAMENTO...  On the way back, we stopped by at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, a popular camping ground for locals and visitors.

Entrance fee for us is $8 cos it is only a day, for those night campers, it cost a bit more.  I did not know what is in store until I was told to put on a sweater and do some hiking up the hill... Really did not mind at all, at least I could shed off some calories from the cheese pizzas I took during dinner the night before... LOL...

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is where the headwaters of the Sonoma Creek run through gorge and canyon, across the meadow floor beneath scenic rock outcroppings. With 2,700 acres, the park has 25 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding and bicycle use.  There is also a self-guided nature trail along Sonoma Creek that starts near the campground.  Deer, bobcats and gray foxes can be seen in the park. From the 2,729-foot summit of Bald Mountain on a clear day visitors can see views of the Sierra Nevada and the golden gate bridge.
This is the place where we left our prints....
Sonoma Creek....
Where the campers hike and camp...
Nature lovers will love this place....
As for me, spending a couple of hours here will be good enough..
For I was freezing at that moment of time....
After taking a few pictures, we ran to the car to escape from the cold...
That was when my BIL suggested going for a hike...
Up the hill....
Up the hill like Jack and Jill....
No problem.... I don't mind walking at all....
Shouldn't be a problem.... ahemmmm..
Taking pictures as we huffed and puffed...
Soon we were up where we belong...
The Green Green Grass of Home....
We're on the...Top of the world...
We have joy, We have fun...
We have Season In The Sun...

Best Cheesey Pizza At Mary's Pizza Shack, Sonoma

AFTER TWO HOURS PLUS OF CLEANING, our poor bellies began to cry for "Food, Food... "  Wasting no time, we were led to the best pizza in town called Mary's Pizza Shack.  I was told this is the best Pizza place ever... As usual we were the early birds at around 4.30pm and by the time we left, the place was beginning to fill up.

It has been a long time since I last ate pizza and they were so so Cheese-sey!  The word Fats have to be deleted from my mind at that moment of time and I think I made history by eating two giant pieces on that day!  We ordered a Family Treat which offers one Giant pizza with a big plate of salad, the set cost $25 and on top of that, we ordered another Large Cheese pizza.  With a bottle of beer for our "angmo", the whole meal cost around $50.
We grabbed this offer...
The wooden shack for those who love the coolness...
The surrounding...
Upon entering....
Inside the shack....
The salad was served...
The Large size Cheesey one came out first....
I was so hungry that I could even finish one whole piece...
So surprised at myself....
Then the Super Large one was served...
Someone ate six to seven pieces...
hmmmm.....
And a good cooling beer....
A very nice meal indeed....
Lasted us throughout the night....
Till tomorrow.... :)

One Night Stay At Sonoma Golf Course Homes

HALF WAY THROUGH THE JOURNEY, I WENT TO DREAMLAND... and by the time I woke up, we were already reaching the condo where we would be staying for one night.  I was expecting a high rise condo or at least a few storeys high cos my sister told us that we would be staying in a golf course condo.  To our amusement, the condo is a landed property with three houses in one row.  That is called condo, to me, they are like terrace houses connecting to each other.  Three single storey house attached to each other with three separate garage.
My sister who was not napping at that moment, took this picture from where she was seated..
Sonoma, we have arrived...

And we were staying in one of these houses for the night...
The purpose of coming by is to set up the place for our Easter holiday in the coming weeks..
A beautiful park for golfers....
No trespassing for those who are not golfers for they do not want to be distracted...
or residents like us might get hurt by the golf balls...
There are a few tame deers in the area, we did not go near to them though...
We just walked around the vicinity... and did our "thing"....

My "flying on land" poses....
And when all is done outside, it is "cleaning up" time inside the house...
When all was done and cleansed, we went out to replenish our calories...
With a Heavy Cheese-sey Meal!

Journey To Sonoma

SET OUT ON THE ROAD AGAIN, this time to Sonoma! A place I have never been though I heard of it numerous times.  It was a two hours drive from home and on the way, we stopped at Vacaville for breakfast at Wendy's.  We quickly grabbed a bite, cod fish burger and we were all set again... to go shopping the at the Outlet stores in Vacaville!  Though we were only given half an hour, we did not mind, just one shop we wanted to enter, that is the Fossil outlet.  I think we spent more than half an hour inside, he came looking for us... LOL... and our journey continued.... Somehow we managed to purchase a few things, just at Fossil... I wonder how many hours we would take if we were to walk the whole area!  Ladiessssss.....

We made another stop again.. this time the driver wanted us to try the Best ice cream he has ever eaten... Frozen Freeze.... yes, though it was still freezing outside, all of us wanted to get one to try.. a medium one too!  There is no such word as FAT when it comes to desserts! LOL...
Before setting off the journey, I "fooled" around again...
Setting out in the car... for breakfast, shopping and desserts...
At Fosters Freeze....
Taken against the sun...
This is the best, so it seems..
Vanilla Ice Cream!!
Not at all sweet.... hmmmm....
So everyone can eat....slurp..lick..bite...
After our belly are full, our journey continued on....
Taken from our moving car...
Passing through lots of vineyards... all the way to our resort....
All over on the main road and up the hills....
Beautiful spring green green grass of home....
Sonoma....

*one disadvantage though... no wifi at the condo...
no wifi means no oxygen*
