Songs And Music At Take A Break Lounge, Ipoh

SONGS OF THE 60S, 70S, 80S...

When I heard that there is a live band at Take A Break lounge only on Friday evenings, I was all for it!  Come Friday, I called up the lounge just to confirm whether it is on and the time it opens on that evening.  I think we ended calling up three times, my sister and I... LOL... so much so when we sat down, the owner asked us whether one of us is called Claire... LOL...

From what I know, this lounge is opened from 12pm till 5.30pm on normal days.  The food served are kind of special, especially the Ona Laksa.  There is none sold outside like the way they serve here.  Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of that, three of us were engrossed in our food and drinks plus the lovely ambience with our favorite songs sung by a really-good singer called Andrew.  Now that I know that there is nice songs sung on Fridays, I do not mind going whenever each Friday comes!  LOL..
Introducing Andrew, the singer...
And also owner of the lounge Take A Break...
He sings mostly in English...
If you love Bee Gees, you will love him too!
LOL..
This is Carman who croons the Cantonese, Mandarin and even Japanese songs!
At times, they duet....
Recommended drink... Root Beer with ice cream.. .
And we introduced ourselves as the Three Sisters...
And we were called Three Degrees for some moments.... LOL...
After 11pm, they open mic to the public....
Alas, no, we the Three Degrees did not sing...
We did not want to chase away the crowd....
We just sit back, relax and have a good time!

Christmas Cheers To Hope, Lotus, Lighthouse.....

ON TWO FINE MORNINGS AROUND 8.30AM, OUR CAROLING GROUP SET OUT AGAIN...

The places we went to are Hope Haemodialysis, Comfort Home, Lotus Home, an elderly couple's house, Lighthouse, Chinese Med Hospital and Daybreak.

At each place, we sang a five to six Christmas songs, some of them include Joy To The World, O Come O Ye Faithful, Drummer Boy, O Holy Night, Go Tell It on the Mountains, Angels We have Heard On High among the twelve songs we have chosen and ends with We Wish You A Merry Christmas with cheers and wishes!

We spent some time distributing some cookies and lingering with the people for a short while before proceeding to our next venue.  It was a fun and cheery day for all of us, though of course, by the end of the day, we were feeling very exhausted.  No doubt about that, we are no more "spring chickens" but nevertheless, our voices and laughter do not tell on us.  LOL.....

All in all, we visited around seven venues on three different days.  This is the first time for me, going round and singing carols, how did I feel?  One word.... Wonder-ful!!

Before setting out and after prayer at the church compound...
At the Hope....
Seriously singing and our crazy stint once it was over....
At Lotus Home....
Getting ready.....
At the Hospital Lobby...
At the Lighthouse in Old Town....
Part of our group...
WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND A BLESSED NEW YEAR!!

The End....

Guitar Center

When my girl was four years old, I sent her for piano lessons and I remember accompanying her for two years in the music shop.  Along the way, I purchased a second hand piano from them so that she could practise at home.  After graduating from the children's music exam paper, she told me that she did not want to continue anymore.  But I encouraged her to continue to the next level, it was such a waste to stop halfway through.  After a year or so, I notice that my girl was not really into piano lessons and eventually I stopped her from continuing.  I guess none of my kids are into music, unlike yours truly who has a passion for music till today.... Though I love to learn piano, I do not have the tine as yet.  I guess I have to stick to my faithful guitar for now and that too, I need to "brush up" with the online guitar lessons.  Maybe I need to check out more details on the guitar center baton rouge before I get a new guitar for myself.

We Had Joy, We Had Fun, We Had Seasons In The Sun!

After our lunchie, we adjourned to Lakeside to "look-see"... never know that there were so many new houses here with fantastic view.  The lakeside was indeed very beautiful, I must go there once more, the scenery is indeed breathtaking.  Reminded me of some China scenes...

Back to my post, we didn't stop at the Lakeside to take pictures, the hot weather was not encouraging either... could easily get sunburn stopping by the side... Best to go in the evening...All we need then was a cooling place to have some kind of "fun"....
Two are "missing" in this picture..
One is the photographer and another left earlier....
Let's get ourselves seated comfortably...
Printed out a few chinese songs....
Let's get the ball rolling, Elin!

Not sure what made me laughed...  maybe having some problem with the chinese lyrics!
After all, I am a "banana...."
