Our Evening In Pitlochry

We walked along the shops, it is really called window shopping cos all the shops are closed and all we saw are the goods displayed with their prices... lovely woolen scarfs were on display and we told Aaron that tomorrow morning we must come again to get some stuff... but needless to say, the next day, all was forgotten and we went on our way to continue our adventure...

Again I wonder how the locals "survived" in this lovely town... It is just like those in the story book where A knows B, and B knows C... I am sure they know who is who.....
on the way back....
the smallest roundabout?
taken while walking up the drive back to the guest house...
back to take our dinner, relax in the living hall.. and ZZZZzzz
The next day we proceeded to Perth/Edinburgh!

The Old Mill Inn, Pitlochry

It was after 5pm when we strolled down to the town, it was quite deserted by then. Most of the shops are closed at 5pm, except for a few eatery shops but we didn't take our dinner there. We bought some frozen pizzas from the grocery stall and micro-waved them in the guest house. (Saves some pounds and pennies!) LOL..

Let me tell you why I lost weight... firstly, it is due to the long walks.. and secondly, it was due to the food... when it comes to food and I mean western food, I only take minimum portions... :)  Ok, that is a different part of the story... right now, let me get back to the walk in town here...

see... quite deserted... the shops were already closed...
Not a soul in sight.. except... me, of course.. :)
but there are people walking along the path to this Inn...
The Old Mill Inn...
where there are rooms... food.... drink....
This post is about The Old Mill Inn.. hahahaa...
Now I wonder why we kept taking pictures of each other here...
Maybe the only place where we see people walking and mingling around here...

One Kilometer Walk To Pitlochry Town

Hey!  I thought I didn't take a picture of the guest house we stayed in...but obviously I did!  After going through the folder again,  I found this!   Knowing myself pretty well, I sure will forget the name of this place so I purposely took a picture to remind myself....
It's called Bruach Mhor...
This guest house is run by a pretty young lady... *smile*
we parked our car in front of the guest house and we walked to check out the town..
it was more than a kilometer walk....
as we strolled along, we stopped to take a "breather"..
every now and then, I stopped to take pictures...
but it got to be quick...cos it was very cold...
we just got to keep on walking..
another one of the B and B guest house..
I guess we were the only ones walking down to town....
obviously, we were the only "asians" too!
Pitlochry City Hall...
One Quick picture .....
and on we continued....
The Co-operative ... one and only grocery around the area...
Upon reaching town, I saw something familiar....
Claire Charles Designs....
Ok, I know...only one word is familiar......

One Night Stay In Pitlochry

Both ladies (my SIL and I) depend a lot on the driver, Aaron... we didn't know where we were going, we didn't know what to expect... we just relied on him and when he told us that we would be staying in Pitlochry, so BE IT! *while scratching our heads, what and where is this place Pitlochry???*

Ok, I just googled for some information... Pitlochry is a popular holiday destination with spectacular scenery where you can find clear sparkling air, beautiful scenery, rich clan history, fine food that comes with real hospitality.  it is in the heart of Scotland, the locals are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and it has been  a tourist destination for over 150 years.

Some scenery I managed to capture while we stopped to find B & B...
country homes and farm houses...
driving up the gravel to our one night stay....
we checked out a few country homes and we settled for this...
at the sideyard...
from the front...
Scenery from our bedroom window...
A family room furnished with a double bed...
and a single bed....
with an attached bathroom...
the living hall...
and from the window... I captured "Paul" waiting for "Peter"...
For one night stay with Breakfast included,
the room cost 85 pounds...
I guess it is pretty reasonable for the 3 of us...
The country home was quite comfortable and clean...
