Surprise Birthday

It was two weeks before my actual birthday so I did not expect the dinner was for my birthday.... My son invited a few friends as well, I thought it was our farewell dinner before leaving for Amsterdam few days later.  Little did I know that the cake came out after the scrunptious dinner and everyone sang Happy Birthday and I thought , "hey, it must be Joshua's birthday!"  So I sang Happy Birthday to Joshua while the rest sang to Claire....re.... And I was totally taken aback... Is it my birthday?  Lol... Yes, my son told me that he had planned it a month ago before I came and it was two weeks before my actual birthday coz I have to leave for Amsterdam few days later.

Our Malaysian friends at the Manchurian restaurant....
My lovely ladies who did not give the surprise away...

Desserts At Jannatta's Gelateria And St Andrew's Caste

STOPOVER AT JANNETTA'S...

This place is very welcoming even though the weather chilled us to the bone.  Someone gave the assurance that it is good to have ice cream with the cold weather, the ice cream will help to "neutralize" the body heat against the cold outside our physical bodies!  Isn't that kind of encouragement sounds good to us??? LOL... No worries, cold or not, I am ALL for my ice cream desserts anywhere, anytime!

Jannetta's Gelateria is the name of the shop where we queued for our ice cream, cold weather or not, these patrons share the same common interest with the 5 of us.  This is a family-run shop for artisan ice cream, sorbet and frozen yogurt besides sundaes and cakes... on top of that, they serve these light snacks as well... sandwiches and hot soup... Definitely worth going and queuing up for seats.
Hot tomato soup with sandwiches...
And some bread salad... or whatever it is...
I really cannot recall what it is called...
The Happy Five!
And soon our jug of ice cream arrived..
12 Big SCOOPS for the five of us...
This cost 18 pounds.. LOL..
In a short while...
All finished in no time!
Very Dessertlicious!!
Our exploration continued after the big snack at Jannetta's...
Have to kick off the cold calories!
Dropped by at St Andrews Castle too...
Freezing cold.. but we made it down the steps...
What a freezing experience!
Would love to come back again... some day!

Along The Streets Of St. Andrews

ST ANDREWS...

One of the weekends, we drove to St Andrews.... I was in this place in the 1980s... I could not recall much about St. Andrews except that it is a famous town for its many golf courses and of course, the University of St. Andrews too.

It was damp on this day but that did not deter us from exploring the town, walking streets after streets and then getting ourselves treated with a Big Jar of Ice Cream!  That was the best part... but before that, it was all about walking around the town at St. Andrews....
Part of the The University of St Andrews...
Where the Royalties had their academic education here...
Was told that Prince William and Kate Middleton were here studying during their college days..
Very nice campus around here...
Walking along the streets at St. Andrew...
Hiding from the cold... LOL...
Let us join the march too!
Military cadets...
We entered this shop... and got some souvenirs...
Taking a short rest...
Not sure how far we have walked before we filled ourselves with snacks and desserts!
