For this morning we waited the usual 15 minutes or so for our Hakka noodles to be served....
The presentation of the Hakka noodles here...
Fat crunchy bean sprouts from Ipoh looks like that...
I like the texture of this noodles, softer and springier... compared to others...
I must have picked 10 of these mixed pork fish balls....
My girl took these....
And as usual, I could not remember how much it cost... RM14? RM12?
Really no idea...
Anyway, after our brunch, we went to look for the traditional
Homemade Egg Sponge Cake...
Heard there is one shop open in town....
Yeah, we found it!
Ah Mah's taste of happiness, it says...
It is along Clare street aka Mustapha Al'Bakri now...
That is the shop...
One man show....
We bought one original flavour to try...
Big like this for RM13...
As soft as the one in Gurney Plaza, Penang...
Only that it is not as sweet and the egg fragrant is not as strong....
Since it is not so sweet, I ended up taking a few pieces in one day!
LOL...
The mixed pork meatballs. I love that. Sometimes I will have that too for my breakfast over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe traditional egg sponge cake. Reminded me of the Taiwan cake my hubby bought last week. Not that nice. I think yours look and taste nicer.
This one is not called Taiwanese.. but ah Mah's. hahahaa..
DeleteThe cake not sweet is good for me. In photo 1, the hakka noodles look translucent. Is it translucent?
ReplyDeleteNo, not really but it is softer than the ones I ate elsewhere..
DeleteI have yet to try the cake as I see Q's, perhaps wait a while, maybe no Q liao then I go buy try it out...
ReplyDeleteYeah, if got long Q, I sure wont buy first..
DeleteOh, I have not been to this Hakka me stall. Looks yummy, but then again I may be prejudiced coz I love all Hakka mee...heheheh!
ReplyDeleteHope you like it too!
Deletethat's a huge sponge cake!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I shared it with my neighbour.. hahaa
DeleteI also tried the sponge cake (Original Cake) at City Square. I bought the golden cheese flavour at RM20, I also found it not as sweet, would prefer it to be sweeter
ReplyDeleteIc, its the other way round..
DeleteThis cake looks delightful, and very light! It looks like what we call Angel Food Cake here.
ReplyDeleteOh really.. I would love to try the next time..
DeleteAs they say, eat more at breakfast and less during dinner. But I always do opposite!
ReplyDeleteOur favourite Hakka noodle stall! I have yet to try the sponge cake.
ReplyDeleteCan share cos very big loaf
DeleteNot liked by many, that Taiwanese egg cake - over-rated, very expensive and nothing spectacular. At least, yours did not have air holes in it - I see that a lot in the photos that others shared. Fail big time!
ReplyDeleteAt least try and taste...
DeleteI am drooling at the soft cake now. It goes well with my coffee.
