Sunday Happenings In Old Town, Ipoh

I was told that there was something on in old town last weekend... to satisfy my curiosity, my girl drove me to the happening place. We parked our car near the clock tower and walked a short distance to the Concubine Lane....
Something fascinating was on display....
And loud rap music was heard in the air...
Got myself into position like them too....
And stayed awhile to watch these young girls in action....
If not mistaken, there is a dance academy nearby....
 Another girl doing her dance...
Thought my girl would be interested to stay longer...
But she didn't... she wanted to move on...
Maybe it was just too hot to stick around...
Another type of music was on the opposite side of the road....
The song.... "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?" was sung...
They even sang a Chinese song which received some good applause from the crowd...
Most cameras were in action when they sang ...
More action around the vicinity....
That was it...
One hour plus... and we were on our way....
Hope there will be more attractions in the coming months....

  4. Just this morning, over breakfast, a colleague (100% pure breed Penangite) mocked Concubine Lane, saying "Aiyo! So many street, why use this street as tourism spot?? Scare no people know is yi lai street??"
I replied him: "At least people are honest, not like your beloved Georgetown, call it Love Lane. How can you call the infidelity place as Love Lane? To self justify for the hamsap old men??"
    Then he kept quiet... XD

    1. RG, thank you so much for justifying for Ipoh! So touched... anyway, all these are historical names, nothing can change them and I hope they never will... it is history no doubt and that is the mystic side of it... hope this heritage will never fade...
